laptop adapter??

Can I plug my laptop into the MT w/o the adapter just to see everthing without changing anything? If I do change something.... will it take? I have the software downloaded.

Who sells them at the best price?

when you say connect, do you mean that the MT will not know the laptop is there without it?

Try Calling Rolo at Central Florida Turbo in Orlando.
His number is 321 235 9959.
He usually keeps the adaptors in stock

I have the LTX8 but when I connect the ECU via cable to laptop it doesn't see the ECU. In the instructions it mentions the laptop adaptor, or "dongle", must be connected. What is that? Are they talking about the cable? When I connect the cable to handheld it works fine but not when I connect to laptop.

The Laptop Adapter or "Dongle" does in fact have to be connected. It looks like the following (next to the CD):

Without it you will not be able to connect to the MT via the Laptop.

what exactly is special about that connector? does it have some sort of translator compared to the normal connectors you can buy at a computer store?

I found the adapter. Guys who did installation left it inside my glovebox. It connects to my laptop now.
