Anyone having a problem losing their LT connection?

My laptop regularly (within 5 mins) loses the connection to the microtech unit. The connections are solid. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm using the stuff that came right out of the box, a standard 9 pin serial port cable and the LT adaptor attached to the microtech unit.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean I should change the serial port on my laptop or do you mean that I should buy a new cable?

I'm using an old windows 95 Amity VP pen-tablet with some generic pcmcia serial card in it and the current software downloaded off the MT website. Messed around for about 30 minutes last night without a problem. The only time the software would disconnect is when I turned off the car (obviously). I wonder what could be causing you guys to lose connection.
