have LT8, street port, 850 pri and 1600 sec. I can only get the car to run a 12.0 on the wide band. I try to lean it out about the car hunts. I was wondering if this is normal? Tim at mircotech told me to check my timing. I'v tried the timing in different places and no difference. Fuel pressure is set at 40 psi.

 

I have almost the same problem, it likes about 12-12.5 AFRs at idle and hunts above that. I'm pretty sure my timming is on, and I've heard rotaries like rich idles(although perhaps not THAT rich ) So far I've just left it as it idles fine right around 12:1

 

mine is exacty the same and my timing is good .

 

sotck or ported motors??

 

my has a street port and when I set the A/fs around 14.7 the car die out after 20 second of running. Now I had it at around 12.2-12.5 at idle.

my cars idle is at about 11.1to 11.2 AFR on wideband with no problems.
I see no reason to change or lean it out.
What do you try to get and why?

mine idles at 11.4-11.5 afr. seems to like it there.

ported engine running at 12.5:1 at idle is fine, a stock port will run at around 13.5 no problems at all
