couple of output wiring questions

hey guys new to megasquirt but not rotarys or ecu etc.

i have a ms3 with ms3x & knock module and running the symtec external egt amplifier.

i have knock channel 1 & 2 on mainboard outputs IACA & IACB
EGT channel 1 & 2 on ms3x using analogue inputs ExtMap & EGO2

1st question is that only leaves me 1 spare analogue (spareADC) and i need to have 2 as i am wanting to log oil pressure and fuel pressure inputs.so how can i achieve this

2nd question is i am running mechanical water inj and have chosen nitrous 1 as my solenoid driver.thats correct to use if not using it for nitrous?

3rd question is tacho output from ms3x is to dash tacho correct?

4th question.on the main board loom for the knock inputs i am needing to use shielded wire.do i ground the shield wire to where the vr iput shield wire is ?

cheers guys

One thing to look up in the docs are that IACA and IACB (depending on which lines you connected to) are always inverted from one another. A is always inverted from B and they will toggle when you change state of the other.

If you are out of built in analog inputs, you can use a CAN module to add more.

You can use nitrous 1 as a generic output, yes.

Tach out is to drive the tach but can be used for any other output purpose. On a 2nd gen you don't need it. Likely not on a 1st gen.

You ground the knock shield to the ground plane on the ECU. So same place the VR input shield grounds is fine.

I'll have to check on this. Worst case you'll have to get one of the secondary CAN I/O boards, but I I think there should be a way to do what you want without resorting to that. You can also check what inputs are available in the settings.

You can use any output listed in the settings.

3rd question is tacho output from ms3x is to dash tacho correct?
On most rx7s, the trailing coil drives the dash tacho. You shouldn't need the MS to do it.

Doesn't matter as long as it's only grounded at one point.

awesome guys cheers.just getting my head around the multiple way of doing things.i have lived a sheltered life in the microtech world haha.now have so many inputs/outputs i needed to check i was on right track!

"One thing to look up in the docs are that IACA and IACB (depending on which lines you connected to) are always inverted from one another. A is always inverted from B and they will toggle when you change state of the other."
i was going to wire one channel to each so could log both rotors?iv read almost all sections on msextra but sometimes takes multiple reads to absorb all new info.

all good on the tacho.i knew the stock gauge worked of trailing but as i am running cop i assumed the output from ecu was used same as microtech.

was really trying to avoid the CAN module if possible but in the end if i need it i need it.

i just bought the FFE trigger kit with hall sensor.lost last engine from noisy cas so thought id eliminate that

ok think i have sussed everything out

am going to change knock inputs to spare 3 & 4 (pins5 & 6)

am going to build 2 protected circuits as per the ms2 manual for inputs JS4 & JS5 to give me another couple of analogue inputs
