Remote tuner recommendations for the Link G4+
After DIY road tuning my single turbo FD with a Link G4+ up to waste gate spring pressure (open/closed loop boost control is not active yet), and getting the car running pretty damned good, I'm looking for an experienced remote tuner to assist me in finishing the job. Would appreciate any recommendations based on personal experience with tuners I should consider hiring for the job. Key tasks I need help with are as follows:
- Independent review of my existing tune file (and logs as applicable) to help me iteratively improve upon the status quo in terms of overall reliability and drive-ability under all conditions. My warm-up cycle currently needs improvement, and I'm not completely confident that my timing maps and target AFRs are optimal - in the interest of safety/reliability, my timing is likely too retarded, and my AFR targets may be a wee bit richer than they need to be. I've been iteratively improving my VE map/fueling via road tuning logs and using the Mega Log Viewer (MLV) software's histogram analysis, but without an ability to measure EGTs, I haven't been able to do anything with timing.
- Help me road tune the open or closed loop boost control settings - not easy to find enough clear roads in my area, so we may have to defer that task to when I can find a dyno facility that will let us do the remote tuning there. My FD's hardware should be capable of something in the neighborhood of 400~450RWHP on 93 pump gas, but I have no interest in pushing it that far for the sake of engine longevity. I'd be more than happy with a sub-400 HP FD, figure a max boost of 15psi MGP or less.
- Lots of documented positive prior experience tuning high power rotaries on a wide variety of EFI platforms without blowing them up. References matter.
- Working knowledge of the Link G4+ or newer G4X family - needs to know his way around the PCLink tuning software at least as well as I do
- Good communication skills, responsive and strong work ethics.
- Experience tuning drive by wire (DBW) throttle on rotaries.
