My T2 vs 2G MR2 Turbo

Last weekend I was driving home from the drive in theater at about 2 am. I just dropped my GF off to pick up her car. Pull up to a light with my GF right behind me and a car pulls up next to me really quickly and starts reving. I hear a BOV ad look over to see a white MR2 with some rims, lowered, exhaust, really clean next to me. He is giving me the nod and I am like... "hummmm....". Keep in mind my GF is directly behind me in her car. Ahead is a 4 mile straight 5 lane wide road.... empty.... I weigh my options, pluses, minuses. Light turns green and I sit there. He gives a rev and inches forward. "ah, F it" I say.

I Engage 1st at 2k rpms and floor it. He gets a huge jump on me, obviously not engaging a 2k, but slipping the clutch. By the time I hit boost he is 1 car ahead of me. I rip up to 7k and shift. I am now 1.5 back and I grab second and get thown back in my seat. I feel boost shoot to 10psi as I pull even by 6k rpms in second and after another 7k shift I throw it into third and stomp it. I look over and see myself pulling away. As I hit 6.5k in third I feel my ignition breaking up and shift to 4th pull for a few more second and shut down at 100mph with a ~2 car lead.

He catches up and gives me a thumbs up and wants to go from a roll. I decline, as I "try" not to race to much and I think we know what the result would be.

Good race. That MR2 was really nice and clean. I like them.

Peace out rotorheads
Steve
