Talking GB: FD3S Carbon Fiber Interior

let's see if we can get a group by for some carbon fiber interior pieces for the FD. I spoke to mdude and he said he'd do it if we get enough people.

Just let me know what you guys want. We can do wet carbon or prepreg dry carbon. Dry carbon will be more expensive than wet carbon.

The pictures i believe are a wrap, but we will be making out of carbon fiber so it will not be just an overlay

hopefully everyone is with me, if you can make the main cluster dash, a/c console, shifter/center console, and both left and right interior door handles, so 5 pieces all together or just the main 3 if price matters. as for the wet/dry whats the difference? sorry if thats stupid but i'm not familier.

I'm also interested in the 5 pieces ...

Questions:
Do we need to supply our non-CF parts or ???
Ball park price?

We will need some pieces to mold. if you want i can buy a perfect set( the gauge hood, shifter console, a/c panel, driver door handle plastic, and passenger door panel plastic). i can get it at a discount so those will be added in the cost or if someone doesnt mind lending us their plastics, we can do that.

Are you really going to be able to mold all of the very complex undersides of these parts, including screw posts, clips, etc., in CF?

In prepreg dry carbon, shouldn't be a problem. Ill have to see if i can get it exact with wet carbon. Since with prepreg, we will be using metal molds to cast

Definitely interested if price is right for the set of 5 pieces.

question: Will the driver's door cuppy be included if you buy the plastic pieces? Please let me know and when do you need the deposit? Thanks in advance.

well, we can always offer different color CF if there is enough demand in a certain color.

DRY carbon is where its at. I would be greatly interested in the pieces as long as they are DRY carbon fiber. Someone shoot me a PM when this gets going.
Thanks,
Phil

I don't know how many others would be in, but I would love an entire dry carbon dash with no vents, no glovebox, no airbag, just a flat expanse where the climate controls normally go that I could cut for gauges and switches myself, etc. . .a more race oriented piece.

More on track with this thread, if at all possible to make the center console piece (climate control *****) produced without any holes, to facilitate gauges, toggles, etc, I would definitely be into that. I realize that this would pretty much be a separate effort, but I think (hope) that there's enough interest aside to warrant its production.

thanks
ryan
