Don't forget on the stock hood setup, there is a rubber seal btwn the hood and the front bumper - and there is not one here. Something to consider. Deposit sent.

Alright, just to clear several things up. The final price is not settled yet due to the fact that we have not gotten a final quote on the lense covers. We will get that worked out asap.

The weather seal near the hood will not be provided by us because of two reasons. First, the cost will go up due to the additional material. Second, this is a track version bumper so we want to keep everything as clean and simple as possible.

Please feel free to post any questions or contact us directly at sales@jklre.com

sure!

Update on fitment issues, we have recently test fitted the same sample on two additional cars and the fitment issues seem to be very random and variable. Since all of our cars are around for a decent amount of years, most body parts have deformed in different scales. We figured that the best way to ensure the fitment now is to give slightly extra material at where the fitment issues appear to minimize the gaps. If the added material becomes extra for certain cars, then the body shop can simply sand the extra off so there won't be any gap problems. Here are some pictures during another test fit.

The gap between the hood and bumper on this car is a lot smaller than on the first test fit car. Note: the hood on this car is not aligned correctly.

We also noticed that there are slight offset between the two sides where the bumper meets the fenders. The slight offset was caused by the wear and slight deformation in the original genuine GT-C bumper we used to make the mold. Now the factory has already started on fixing these issues so the problems will be all solved for the official production.

Won't adding material make it even more pronounced problems like the hood clearance on this test fit? Is the thinking that removing material is easier than adding for the body shop/customers?

Also if one needs to sand it down to fit properly, Is there a chance that you would sand thru the material and be totally screwed. Just nervouse about getting more material added when it looked like it is so close on the first test fit. Was the second car straight(in a crash or anything? Very drastic changes between the 2 tests.) I expect some varience but isn't that a bit much? Just wondering since I am not a body shop guy pro. Thanks for answering all our questions and concerns

Dave
First, as i noted, the second car has a hood problem so the clearance there is not a very good example. If you look closely, the hood is not even level on both side.

We are adding the material because we do see common gaps in the hood area on the other two cars we tested and removing 1-2 mm extra material would be easy for a body shop. You won't sand through the material because we are adding extra material there already so it will be slightly thicker. These cars all have some years in them and many body parts could have been replaced due to various reasons. After the test fit, we do see the variance and that's why we want to make sure on the fitment issues by test fitting on multiple cars.

All body parts will have some areas that might not fit very perfectly since they are still not custom molded for each car, but we want to minimize the issues and make it easier for the body shop to customize before painting.

Also, we got an update on the lense covers, we will be offering only clear lense covers due to the availability reasons. We could get them tinted for everyone if everyone wants them darker but there might be a little extra cost.

Additionally, we will be offering two different sets of signals: OEM 99 spec signals and replica 99 spec signals. OEM signals are brand new genuine Mazda 99 spec signals and the amount we have in stock is very limited. Both sets are made in Japan and will be shipped to us straight from Japan. Here are the pricing estimates: (All prices do not include shipping)
OEM signals + KnightSports Harness: $330
Replica signals: $200

Thanks for the answers. That is what i was expecting to hear. And yeah the hood was not a reference I was making. That one was not correct as mentioned by you in the post. I meant more the gaps on the fenders was way different. BUT that said I just put 2 Brand new Mazda fenders on and they took some manipulation to get the fit I desired. So I do not expect a direct plug and play with the bumper. Everything needs a little massaging here and there.

As for the lenses. Clear is the easiest way to please evryone I believe. Here is a solution for those that want a smoke, light smoke, GT(amber) etc. pretty cool stuff. Even have clear just to protect the lenses from track debris and road debris.

Thanks again. Getting a semi waiting for this thing

For those of us that don't know, can you elaborate on the replica signals (i.e. quality, fitment, durability, etc..)

Many thanks

The fitment, quality, and durability of the replica unit is similar to the OEM, the only difference is the replica unit has metallic silver color reflectors and it does not require wire modifications or KS harness to connect.

They will be shipped out with the bumper if this list gets set-up fast enough. So everyone who is interested in purchasing the combo signal lights, please let us know asap. Thanks!

What do you mean by clear? Do you mean normal Mazdaspeed style, as the normal ones are already tinted.

How much for the lenses seperately...

no, clear means no tint on it. The lense cover we offer will be fully clear so everyone can tint them to whatever color they want.

Yes, we will be offering separate purchase for these lense covers. Price will come out soon, we are still currently working on the final price with the factory.

Bumper looks good!

When is the expected shipping date estimation... or better yet. Arrival to SF? My bodyshop is already asking when they can squirt the entire car.

The factory is almost done with fixing the fitment issues, they will start the official production soon. We are having 20+ bumpers made this time to fill this GB and some shop orders so please understand that the production will take some time. We are hoping to get all batches shipped to us at the same time to minimize the waiting time for some of the people on the later batches.

Meanwhile, we need to settle the signals order list. Anyone else wants to order the signals? We want to be able to order them in Japan asap so they can be shipped out with your bumpers.

Hey Kevin!

If ther is someone in need of a bumper soon that is on the second batch list...

you can bump me down the line, My car is not currently running, so i rather have someone driving around with this awesome bumper (rather than it sitting in my garage for a year)

either way, I'm stoked to see this bumper with my own eyes.

hey Jesse, sure, i will keep that in mind if anyone wants to switch spot with you. We are currently working on storage spaces so hopefully we can get all 20+ bumper at the same time to minimize the waiting time for everyone.

Update regarding Damian's rebar and splitter, Damian is currently working on them but he is also extremely busy with his racing events so the production might take a while. Meanwhile, we are gathering interest on them to see if we are going to produce them.
