These lenses are pretty nice.

Unfort, that are not tinted, and are clear. Anybody who wants to tint these is going to have their work cut out for them. I have talked to two professional tint shops in my area, and both of them said that due to the shape of the cover, it would be very expensive and painful to tint.

Our three options were:

1) Niteshade (tinted rattlecan type spray) $13.00 a can, low chance of failure.
2) Lamin-x (Very hard to apply to this shape) $60.00 for the sheets, high chance of failure.
3) Traditional tint (Very hard to apply to this shape) $cheap for sheets, high chance of failure.

I'm currently planning on using the Niteshade for one set, and trying to make the yellow lamin-x work for the second. I'll post pictures of my progress when the products arrive.

Again, all the lenses are custom made by a professional glass manufacture for us. They are only offered in clear color, sorry.

Here are some pictures we got. We did not do any sanding or adjusting to improve the fitment. So this is what you will get for directly slapping on the bumper. All we had the body shop do is paint and clear coated the bumper when it was off the car. We then just slapped it on with some bolts. Please excuse the dirty car and any imperfections since we rushed this to get some pics taken for those who requested to see the final products. As you can also see, we just used double sided tape for the lense covers so it does not look very pretty. We will ask Mark (gnx7) to share some pics with us once his car is ready.

One suggestion for installation, it is recommended to use the stock mounting hardware for the fenders. The mounting hardwares are the metal plates with 3 threaded studs on each plate. The two plates can be found on any stock bumpers where it meets the fenders. The reason for this is the original GT-C bumper is designed to install with these hardwares. However, it is not required to use the hardwares since we did not use them for the setup in the pics below.

Here are some pics of the bumper going on my race car.

Prototype test fitting:

Here it is painted and installed:

The fitment to the hood line, fenders, and light covers was very good.

Please be patient with me as I am very busy with work and the race season, but I am working on getting the following to JKL to work on:

1) canards
2) oil cooler/brake ducting
3) new rebar
4) splitter/undertray

If it's race season, there better be some new videos on the website...and soon. That or the next installment of the light saberduels. Maybe one where someone loses a limb.

Damian, looks good! Just remembered, you need lense covers? We did not send you a pair since they were not done when we sent you the sample unit. Let us know if you need a set. Keep the good stuff coming!

BigWillieStyles, do you mean by using our replica lense covers on original GT-C bumpers? If so, yeah, it should work since we used original lense covers as the mold to make our lense covers.

BNA_ELLIS, we contacted Bax Global already and just waiting for their quote now. Sorry for the delay. Thanks!

That looks good Damian!

JKL-
What is the process and best way for fitting/installing the lense covers?

I need a set of the '99 replica lights also. My car will be in primer finally this week. Good God is my bodyshop slow.... but does good work. The guy had the ***** to take a 4 day vacation .

My car will be running stock front fenders with hand rolled lips for max clearance. Pettit rear flares and a JKL GTC style front bumper. I didn't really like the way the Shine Burnout front flared fenders looked on the car. (anybody interested in them PM me)

mark, for the lense cover install, really nothing special here, just line up the covers first to see if all the holes match. If one or two holes are off by a little bit, try to push them around to see if you can get them to match. If not, modify the holes on the bumper to match the holes on the lense covers. For best fitment, also add some clear color double sided tape. For the bottom holes of the lense covers, they reach all the way into the oil cooler openings, so it is a bit difficult to drill holes there. You can just use double sided tape, be sure to use the strong ones there, color won't matter since you won't be able to see that part anyways. Just make sure everything will fit properly before you have the bumper painted since modifications, including drilling, applied after the paint is done might damage the paint in that area.

If you need the replica signals, sure, just send us the payment or if you need more details, just email us!

For everyone who already sent in your deposit but have not yet paid in full, we already sent out a message to each of you requesting for the remaining payment for the bumper. Please let us know your current status! Thanks!

Update:
For those who is sending in payments for signals, we will be using air shipping directly from Japan, so you will need to add $50 for shipping. This is only an estimate, if the actually cost appears to have a significant difference, we will quote you the additional or refund you the extra as needed. Thank you!

We are going to offer a flat shipping rate for convenience and you can decide on if you want to wait for other parts to be completed for combined shipping. We will see if Damian's rebar can fit in the same box with the bumper, if so, then shipping for rebar will be free for those who purchase our bumper. Splitter will have to be shipped in another box and shipping cost will be additional.

US Domestic Shipping Price on bumper only or bumper w/ signals shipments:$160

For those of you sending in the remaining payment for bumper only purchases, the amount due is $600 + $160 shipping = $760 - $200 deposit = $560 (Please use e-check so we can save some fees since we are not charging anyone for paypal fee for this GB. Thanks!)

Update on the other parts:

I have another race to prep for at Road America in a few weeks and we are tryin to get the new t5 trans in, so I will be tied up with that for a while. But after I get past that I can get back on the rebar/ducting/canards development. I will also get a splitter over to JKL soon so they can keep working on that.

Question about the splitter.

I just took a look at your website.

It looks like you are marketing the splitter for the GTC bumper. (I assume a pre-order option on the online store)

http://shop.jklre.com/products/fd-gtc-rfb

The Splitter was available as an accessory for the race bumper.

The asking retail price was $330.00 USD (a little steep at first glance) with little information up on it. (hopefully a little cheaper through the GB option)

What I'm wondering is for that price will it come with the mounting clips as seen on Damian's Splitter?

Oh yeah how is the re-bar coming along

Thanks a lot!

~Jesse

The price on the website is just the retail price and forum GB price is always better than that.

The price will be $250-280 for the FRP splitter depending on how many order we actually get since we cannot just assume everyone on the interest list will order.

For the hardware, yes, of course. All hardwares will be included with the splitter.

For the rebar, we have not yet gotten any firm updates from Damian. So we hope we will hear from him soon. He has been busy lately with his race events.
