From track S2000 to FD RX-7

I've owned many cars and had recently ended up with my third S2000 and built it to be a reliable track monster capable, in the right hands, of humbling GT3's. I achieved my goals with the car and wanted more power. But I didn't want to spend $5k+ in adding complexity to the car and only making another 150hp. I decided to move on. Sold it and debated back and forth between K-swapping a Lotus Elise (which I've owned before) or delving into the enigma of rotary ownership. I ended up winning an eBay auction at a surprising amount (at least to me) and will be taking delivery of a sight-unseen 93 FD RX-7. It has an Atkins street-port motor and single GT3582R turbo with some supporting mods. The plan is to build it into as reliable of a track car as I can and compete in Global Time Attack while attending more HPDEs. I've heard great things about this community (on par with the S2000 community), though I've heard horror stories about the engine. I'm both excited and nervous to jump in and begin the learning process... and have as much fun as I can in one of the most beautifully timeless driver's cars out of Japan!

Cheers!
Brock

Thank you. Actually, full list of cars I've owned:

-94 Nissan Sentra SE-R, home-built turbo kit
-Eagle Talon Tsi, lemon
-AP1 S2000 x3
-98 Integra Type R, hype is real
-E46 M3, overhyped
-Evo IX SE, better than the driver
-NA Miata, fun as snot
-Lotus Elise, turbocharged fast as snot
-Porsche 911 3.2 ('85), turbocharged and beautiful, but still a widow-maker
-Toyota 86, so balanced
-Ford Focus RS, daily winter-dominator
-Audi A4 Avant, comfy cruiser
-Toyota FJ, because some winters suck more than others
-E46 330i, $1,000 every other month in maintenance

I will definitely be posting updates on the build with the goal of minimal expense on track-worthy components that create a performance car greater than the sum of its parts and competitive in-class at Global Time Attack.
