One of the Younger FD Owners here
Hello RX7 Club! Just introducing myself here,
I've owned my RX7 for almost a year now (I just turned 20 recently) just getting on the boards here. Im located in Maryland, Im the new owner of FD3Boost's '93 RX7. The car has already went through some minor changes, sorting out suspension for my liking and the over-all taste of the car itself to suit my satisfaction as an entry-level road racer.
My background; I've come for the MR2 platform, I owned an AW11 MR2 when I was 14 and had an SW20 Turbo when I was 15. I owned the SW20 for the better part of 5 years, the car was my creation, slowly built over time reaching over 400whp with a GT3071R, a sleeved and built rotating assembly/head all machine work done n house by myself along with full basic suspension upgrades, coilovers, bracing, cage and prototype control arms and a simplified interior and wiring harness (Mods are limited to the MR2 crowd) and it saw mild track use and lots of street time. I work as a engine machinist/tachnician at my father's shop Head's Up Racing/RC Automotive, and we build cars on the side (He is an avid SCCA driver) for personal use.
I decided to move on to a different platform after my SW20 had caught fire due to a short in the alternator wiring, which engulfed the car itself, and the realization of the fact that I had completed the SW20s build minus some more weight saving and was not happy enough with the platforms competitiveness on course in NASA Time Attack and my own standards. The SW20 is extremely limited in modifacations, having some of the best options in coilovers only being Tien's and no adjustable arms or anything of the sort. The FD3S has been my primary dream car besides an SW20 at a very very young age so I decided to move forward in the chase.
I stumbled upon Dave's beautiful Innocent Blue Mica '93 FD3S with 73k on the odometer full of Greddy/Trust parts and a modest 430whp. I've been a huge fan of IBM of years, regardless I wanted a IBM RX7 since Gran Turismo 2 days as my dream car. Im very satisfied that I found this car so close to my home (1 hour away) in such great condition. I jumped on it and it was rough at first due to a turbo dieing on me right after purchasing, I've held through and now preparing to tear the car down for winter to complete the suspension and prep it for mild road racing with bushings, sway bars and full coilovers for the time being, re-doing the interior ot my liking and installing smaller bits like a new Greddy Titanium exhaust, Advan wheels ect.
Im very deep into the Japanese car culture, I follow close to the builds and tuning style's of Fujita Engineering, ASK Sport, Top Secret, Garage Fukui/Pheonix's Power, Revolution, Kansai Service and the like. My name comes from a long time obsession with the Expressway racing scene/culture that consumed the highways in the 90s and early 00s, the Wangan Expressway, C1 Loop and C2 Loop are a long time dream of mine to drive since I first played Tokyo Xtreme Racer in '00 or '01.
Here's some older out of date pictures of when I first bought FD3Boost's car:
And one of my old SW20 (A signature on the MR2OC):

Keep an eye out for a build thread and updated pictures of the car with a full modifacations list and in the works modifacations,
Thank you for reading,
