MD new guy Here

Hello all:
My son and I just bought a 1098 RX-7as a project car. the car is in very good condition, but I literally know nothing about these cars and the components under the hood. the interior is mint! body is very strait with very minimal rust spots. my first issue is that the gas tank is in poor condition because the car sat for 10 years or so (inside thankfully!). most of other stuff I am missing should not be too tough to find. the tank is the big one right now. and learning what all that stuff under the hood is. .

My son is a mechanics apprentice with Mazda, so we have that going for us. But we will still need some parts. So I look forward to pestering you all for info and parts . please feel free to ask me any questions about our car that you like. I'll do my best to answer correctly. Thanks.

I would agree with rxtasy3 in posting a want to buy ad in the marketplace section. If you are unable to find a tank, perhaps your current gas tank can be restored.

Welcome! On the gas tank, if it's not perforated thru like Swiss cheese, you may be able to restore the tank with one of those POR15 tank restoration kits. Go to https://por15.com for more info. The POR15 stuff works really well, and can permanently seal small pinhole size leaks when used according to the instructions.
