well i guess i'll have to get a few posts before i can post in other areas of these forums..
guess i'll tell about my background. bought my first rx7 in 1994 while i was in the USMC.. was an 86 sport model with the aluminum hood. 5 lug wheels and no sunroof. loved that car. later it started using coolant.. traded it for an 87 turbo II in 1997.. another great car.. moved to portland oregon and experienced the car on icy streets in winter. and had friends with kids and i couldnt take them anywhere.. traded it in on an Acura Integra in 1999.. so for the last 14 years i've been building honda/acuras.. they're fun but i missed my rx7s.. yesterday i picked up an 88 SE .. it runs and drives.. but needs lots of work. the previous owner was a Fast n furious fan or something.. its got stickers everywhere.. i'll be taking 500 hp worth of stickers off tomorrow. body is straight, paint decent.. great project! and i got it cheap! plans are to AutoX, drag and try my hand at drifting
anyway I'm Richard.. seeya on the forums!
also i'd like to know where the best place online to get OEM parts from? if it were a honda i got tonz of sources.. but i'm starting out fresh with no sources on the 7's.
the car looks hideous right here. but this is what it looks like as i offloaded it from the trailer.

welcome to the board.
this is actually one of the better intros I've read on here. good luck with your project. read up the stickies and FAQs and get yourself posting.
for OEM parts there are about 3 places I look toward. off the top of my head though, Malloy Mazda is the only name I remember. I will try to go look up some of my old receipts for the contact info, but if I forget to get back to you, just shoot me a PM to remind me.
yeah. you ain't shittin'!

thanks guys! i got anxious and went out and removed all the stickers today.. got sore fingers now LOL. but heat gun + fingers = stickers gone! mounted some 17" wheels i had from another car (universal lug).. going to wash the car tomorrow and get some better pics also need to black plasti dip all the bezels inside.. the guy painted all the plastic parts white.. need to find a reasonable online OEM rx7 parts website to order a new center console bezel as this one is cracked in about 5 places LOL. previous owner put some "carbon fiber" sticker on the bezel which is holding it together LOL.

yeah i suppose.. i was just thinking that that bezel around the stereo/climate console just gets brittle over time and a new one from mazda might last longer than buying a used one from someone on here.
i'll look over the site more as i have time.

If you want the thing to last then look into the 89 version,it is Rubber coated center console, the vents are better and the shifter is rubber coated too.
It is way more durable than the 88 stuff.

no, this is a real RE Amemiya body kit.. (JDM).. the headlights are part of that kit.. i looked up the front bumper & lighting kit and found them in japan for $1700 US Dollars.. plus shipping. or you can buy the knock off version on ebay for around 400 with no lights. (you supply the lights)

Now,as far as the S5 Stereo surround. The center is 2 pieces. The main surround and the separate air vents..
YES they are PLOP and Play on an s4..been there bought TOO many..
The reason that you get BOTH the center surround and the shifter surround is it just looks better to match parts.
