Hello from Muskoka
I have been lurking on this site for quite some time. I am really impressed with the content, so I have joined. I just purchased my 3rd 1st Gen RX7. I had a 1980 in 1982 for several years and loved it so I bought a 1982, fixed it up and then sold it. I recently bought a 1984 GSL automatic. The body is in good condition but I will need an engine and some brake parts. I do all my own car repairs. It's my passion!

Philie, it's a great passion to have! Thanks for coming out of the shadows and finally registering! The more 1stgen folk registering the better!
Welcome aboard!

Thanks so much for the welcomes! I may have mislead some people though. I have had and only have now 1st generation RX7's, not 3rd generation. I still like the reliability and backyard mechanic fixability of the 1st gen.
Over the years I have had and restored many British sports cars. The last one was a Triumph TR8, but they are all way overpriced and arguably not as reliable as the Japanese cars were. As well, the British fixer uppers are pretty well all gone. Just the restored ones are mainly around. I hope my comments don't get too many Brits upset, (I am a Brit).
Anyway, I have been working on my GSL up until the cold weather came. Unfortunately I have one bad apex seal and have been trying to free it up with no success. I can't get the compression up in 2 rear rotor chambers and I used every trick in this site's book. I will probably look for a replacement motor in the spring. Also my rear calipers are shot. Other than that the car is in nice condition and has all the options except a/c. I knew the car's condition when I purchased it.
