trying to figure out my boost issues please be kind
RX7 FD 1995 RHD
if you were running non sequential, and only made 2 PSI max under full load, and the car was bogging at around 3000 rpm trying to build boost ( feels like my cars choking whenever i hit 3000 rpm) what would be your first thing you would check? Sometimes, rarely, the car will allow me to acelerate no problem up to redline but most of the time the car is suffering very bad boost surge/ severe bogging. i am using a 3 port mac solenoid to control boost and its really frustrating not having the car at its full power any advice is gratefully appreciated and please dont be rude
i also did a test of only pulling vaccum from my actuator and got around 6 psi but still not 10 or 11. so i just want some advice of what to check, i also have a high flow catylitic converter and full megaphone exhaust. The car sat for a few years a bit ago, could this be a problem with m fuel system? has anyone else had this issue and solved it?

First off, don't sweat it, we’ve all been there with the FD, and nobody should be rude about it. Since your car sat for a few years and you’ve already tried running straight vacuum to the actuator with no luck, your issue is almost certainly a mix of fuel delivery failure and an exhaust restriction.
thank you so much for the response, i have a high flow catylitic converter so i will be checking my fuel pump and injectors the car runs great its just this stupid boost issue haha and it sat for about 4 years
If you are still running stock ecu, what you are experiencing may be what is call "limp" mode.
The JDM ecu forces the care into "limp" mode to force you to go to the dealer to have the car checked over.
Most Mazda dealers these day would not know how, or want to bother, remedying "limp" mode - so you are going to have to figure out yourself.
There have been plenty of guys in your position. So you can find some extensive commentary, on here, on the many actions you need to take.
Here is a start:
1. Do a compression test
2. Do a smoke test
3. Run "codes" (if you have a stock ecu)
4. Do a fuel pressure test
5. Check all your grounds
6. Coolant system pressure test
7. Check if your fuel intake in the tank is clogged
8. How old is your gas?
9. Check if rodents have set up camp in your air filter box
The stock ECU constantly checks for feedback for about 50 items. If it gets a fault, it may initiate poor running ("limp mode"). If you turn th ecar off, the ecu may reset, only to go back into "limp mode" once the faults are detected again. That is why it will run fine for a while, then go back to running poorly.
Do such things before you start digging around in your engine bay, trying to fix random things.

i am on a megasquirt ecu and i got rid of the old gas when i got the car, i replaced the fuel filter as well thinking that could fix it and still nothing but it didnt help i will using the advice you guys have given me with running those tests and get back to let you know if i found the culprit, i am running v mount set up as well not that it changes much.
There may be some threads that discuss the Megasquirt ECU.
But it seems to be less commonly in use.
The "smoke test" might quickly show where you have and air/boost leaks in the system.

thanks to you guys and my good buddy whos a rotary mechanic, i was able to take appart my fuel system, upon further inspection one of the shops that was working on the car had placed a 363cc injector from a mustang in the car, call me stupid but ive been trying to diagnose whats going on with the car while dealing with 3 other car projects, while taking appart the aftermarket fuel rail ( pro flow) i removed the injectors to get cleaned and realized they look really weird, i found out they were from the mustang and **** my pants, i am now in search of 4x 1000cc injectors to get this vehicle right, i dont know what else has been messed with knowing the car had those injectors inside so im diagnosing everything tonight, thank you everyone for the help. im learning alot and am happy knowing i caught this thanks to you guys.
