rx7tt95: I did remove the fiberglass bumper reinforcement in those pictures, because I'm doing a Greddy 2 FMIC installation prior to final installation of the FEED bumper, I believe that will do well to replace the bumper reinforcement?!? If the FMIC itself isn't enough reinforcement I'll probably hack up the stock fiberglass one and make it work that way, or customer fab something...

The bottom splash guard slips in above the bottom of the bumper, I didn't pay close attention to whether it will need spacers if mounted perfectly horizontal, will check that tonight and comment later.

BTW: The stock bumper was a bit of a b*tch to remove as it was my first time removing one, took a couple hours to find all the bolts that needed to come out. I'd like to find the person who designed the bolt locations on each side and kick them a good one as they are not easy to get to.

3 more bumper fitment pictures with better light and jacks to hold the bumper into place.

No fear on the large hole in the front, I spend last night and the day today working on this...

The hood on Nocab72's car is not a stock hood. If you fit the bumper with the stock hood, there will not be any big gap between the hood and the bumper. You can see those at http://www.rotaryextreme.com/feedfb.html

2nd of all, Nocab72 is not a professional and it's the first time he replaced a bumper. The bumper is not even painted yet or fitted by a professional bodyshop.

You should compare the fitment between the original FEED bumper and the replica and you can see those at

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/feedfb.html

Once Nocab72's bumper is painted by a professional bodyshop, I am sure it will fit perfectly. After that, let's see what kind of comment you have.

JoeD, Please no more posting pictures of whales..

Nocab's bumper looks good. Looks as chuck and even I have said before, even that fitment is upgraded from what fitment was on the original FEED front end.

I bought a 99 spec reinforcement and undertray. I haven't fit anything yet...waiting to have some engine work done first. The reinforcement was pricey, but I had smashed the 94 one. The undertray was relatively cheap. I am still waiting on airguide (94 also smashed) and ducting for brakes. Nocab-I have the same replica hood and bumper. The hood doesn't clear my greddy SMIC so I am going to get an apex FMIC to go with my apex rx6. It looks like if you get a FMIC, then there is no room for a reinforcement of any type, right? You also didn't mention having to drill out holes for mounting the lights, etc.

He guys, calm down. We don't have to debate about this by getting brutal.

My take on this:
There are SOME things that I would by a replica of and there are somethings that I wouldnt. Mechanical and electrical components I would almost NEVER buy a replica of unless the replica has been proven to be a superior product. I think a good example of this IS a Rolex. A Rolex is a marvelous piece of engineering. They are designed to withstand the elements and take a lot of abuse and keep on ticking. Would a Rolex replica ever withstand the same abuse? Hells no.

Now let's take something simpler for an example. You go to the department store, you see a brand name for X price, and then you see the EXACT same style towel from a generic company for 1/2 it's cost. Now, it's just a towel. You look at the materials both are made of, and they are EXACTLY the same. Both seem to be of the same quality, size, dimensions, and are even made of the SAME materials, so WHY the hell would you buy the more expensive one, when you could buy the generic one which is JUST as good for cheaper?

Let me use just ONE more example. The generic/replica type foods at department stores in the states that Mahjik mentioned. I don't know about some people, but I can certainly taste the difference in some of these foods. The macaroni and cheese is a good example. The generic style tends to taste VERY synthetic, while the brand name macaroni and cheese mixes taste MUCH more like real cheese. In a case like this, I most certainly perfer the brand name.

Rotary Extreme has taken their design, and made it BETTER. Even if the Original Feed bumper was for the same price, knowing the fact that Rotary Extreme's bumper FITS better, I would purchase his.

I purchase what has been proven to be the superior product REGARDLESS of who made it. If brand name is important to you, even though it is inferior, so be it.
Took the words right out of my mouth. didn't realize that I was reading the wrong thread all this time

Got word from the bodyshop, no car back with bumper painted and installed until early next week. No problems, just haven't gotten to it yet. Hang tight everyone, I'll have final pictures ASAP!

By the way, I just ordered a FEED version 2 bumper from Japan, the real deal (not a knockoff). It should be here in about a week or so, and it will go to the bodyshop immediately after that. I will take pictures and then we can compare and contrast fitment between rotaryextreme's replica and the real deal...

this is weird about fitments, I never hear any complaints about the big companies, just the small ones, and even Knightsport/R-magic too. It seems fitment is the exact oposite in the states..... WEIRD>>>>

Weaklink here is a picture of tony's car with the FEED version 2:

Does it look like it fits like *****???Look at how well the REAL FEED kit fits. I have seen his car in person and the fitment of that kit is far superior than the fitment of Chucks replica. The gaps between the bumper and the fender are smaller and the clearance with the hood is better too. It kind of makes you wonder hmmm?? The pictures on chuck's site of the real FEED were probably not properly fitted or installed by a professional shop. I don't mean to talk **** or anything because I'm sure his replicas are pretty good, I was actually thinking about getting one myself....but i'm sure it's an involving process to make it fit well. But it doesn't matter what I say, pictures are worth more than words anyways, when I get the kit pictures are what you will all get of my car with the real kit. BTW, I didn't pay a thousand more for the real thing, I'm not going to say how much I am paying but it's definitely more worth my while to get the real one.
