need a cheap, basic, no-nonsense, no flash cd player
Like, the title says, that's what I need. I want it to blend in with the rest of the interior (79 SA), so basically, it should be mostly black. I hate mismatching things and things that are out of place. I really like the looks of nakamichi cd players, but thery're so expensive! (and I rather spend money on go- fast stuff ) Everything at crutchfield is to flashy for me. Does anyone know of any other places where I can find cd players, or low key cd players? Everthing seems to be marketed toward ricers in the car audio world! It sucks!
Any help would be apretiated, thanks.

I did some more searching, and this is the one I'd probably get if I were to get one. (still a little flashy though)

I'd still have to wait until atriark comes out with the new SA faceplates and I get some guages, but I'm just looking

The best decks you can get are McIntosh & Nakamichi.
I have a Nak cd-35z in my 87. You can tell the difference between it and others (had a Pioneer Premier before). The clarity of music is far superior due to the 24-bit D/A Converter (look at your deck specs, chances are you're only running 1-bit D/A/C with a 24-bit Burr/Brown).
The current models can be found here: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...facturerID=637
It is not flashy. You'll have a few features, but simplistic ones.
If you care about quality of sound, and not gimmicks, go for the Nak, you won't regret it.
Go with some MB quarts for speakers too, and get quality amps (PPI for one) if you want to wow your friends (and yourself).

I had a McIntosh MX406 and it would match nicely to your interior, but
it´s propably also out of your price range.
