My dash project ... relocation of AC controls
I know I said I would post pictures a long time ago and here come some. I am about half way done with this project. These are the current pictures with bondo showing and all so people can have an idea what is going on. In the end I'm putting 2 Blitz gauges up high and painting everything a high gloss black.
Here is another picture of the controls placed (not mounted yet) below the piece I cut. I'll have to make the sides wider and cut some out at the bottom to make it fit properly. (ie leave enough room above for the CD player.)

Directfreak, that's the best setup IMO. I like it in how that Chameleon painted RX-7 owned by someone like Tony Yeh (Can't remember name exactly, maybe thats it). All the buttons are still in stock position but the 2 large twist buttons have been located to the little compartment under the shifter. I liked that one a lot.
Otherwise this one is good too but I'd place them a little differently.

You can't place them differently and have them fit all in this small area. I wanted to leave enough room to put the radio above it and you only have a limited width, so this is the way I saw to do it. I also didn't want my arm resting on the controls and I didn't want to reach in the glove box. I would have put my gauges on the a-piller, but it blocks my view a little bit so I figured what the heck. These are all the reasons I went for this approach ... oh yeah and no one had done it yet!
Hey, that's my fiance's leg.. LOL

One day I will start my project on relocating the A/C. Hmm, I think Jay has a how to in his website. Also, how long did it take to complete the task?
