Who does a paint job but doesn't take the time to apply some filler to the dents?
If she were a male, you'd be instantly pointing out the ricer red double wiper blades.
Or the sleepy-eye, looks-broken headlights.
Or the definitely-broken front turn signals.
Or the illegally missing side marker lights.
Or the broken front lip.
This is ignored because she is female? Pathetic.
If painting a car was this easy and cheap, why would anyone spend $2000 on the paint alone? Why would anyone spend $3000 on the labour to do it? Why would the factory go to such extensive and expensive lengths to electro-coat the bare metal, and the CNC robotic arms for top coating? If a pressurized rattle can did such a good job, why would any paint shop spend thousands on HVLP guns, air compressors, air dryers, etc?
Stop kidding yourself.
Let's see how the car looks in 6 months. Forgive me for not being impressed by your cheap, half-assed job.

lol.
me = voting +1 for flat black FCs... but make sure you got some real wheels and real power under the hood so it isnt a slow POS with a POS paintjob.
if you keep on getting better paint skills, at some point you stand the chance of making money on paintwork as thats always been lucrative for people who are good at it. best of luck and keep at it!

And to whoever said things are being ignored because she's a girl, go back to elementary school because you're reading comprehension sucks. I actually thought she was a guy before actually reading her SN, so that theory doesn't hold much water.

Not a bad rattle can job. Thumbs up to you
Kinda off topic, but I'm assuming you are the one who makes the headlight kits. Am I correct? If so, my question is this- do you make them with lights that have red halos?

Yes, Maaco's paint jobs are much worse than what she did. I don't think they even do a clearcoat.
Whomever said that you should do it right or not do it at all... did you see how many times she repainted the car before it looked good? She was learning how to do it properly. You can't really "do it right" on the first go with no experience. I guarantee you that if you tried to do it yourself, it will not come out as nice as you would like the first time. It's a learning experience. The car isn't really worth getting professionally painted, so she is using it to learn on. Someday she will be able to do a professional paint job on her cars on a very low budget.
What she did actually looks way better than any DIY job I've ever seen, and I have never even seen one done by a girl. I think she gets mad props for even having any interest in doing this at all.

rxgirl, for the front markers. i also have the gp sport kit, what i did was with a dremel, dremel down the top and bottom of the marker by like 1/4 inch, and they should fit snug after that. besides that. ****** AAA kudos to you for having the cojones to use cans on your car and making it look nice, screw the haters.

I applaud the effort and patience that went into this project. You did a really good job with the rattle cans! I've done a few sets of interior plastics with the rattle can and I don't believe you could've told the difference between what I did and a paint shop. After some time you will see a difference though 'cause the materials used at a paint shop are far superior than what you get out of a spray can. Rx7girl, I do agree that instead of doing all of the work with spray cans, you should've invested in a compressor and spray gun. You need to work on getting out the dents too. Very good job none the less.

looks pretty good, I like the blue/blackish color scheme very nice. Personally though I liked seeing the progression of the car more than the paint(it was the same car right?) started off with phonedials upgraded to 5-lug then the body kit thing along with the TII hood and wing, and as you mentioned you want to do a TII swap? It's nice to see that I'm not the only one willing to spend the time and money on a base model to make it your own you usually get responses like "First step to going faster is to sell your car and buy a TII" or something else like that. Kudos on the paint thing and taking the initiative to make the car truly yours. best of luck

mines still stock but you did/going to do pretty much everything I'm going to even including the HID's mine even still had the back seats which are completely worthless unless A)you like having a bucket to throw **** into or B)You have small children or midget friends. I'ts gonna be a lot of work but I'm using this as a learning vehicle where I can rip **** apart put it back together and pray it still works, but it's gonna be fun as hell to finally have a chance to get my hands dirty

for all those idiots posting that it looks like crap or about how she didn't fix the dents, maybe you should actually read the post and find that she didn't CARE about them for the time being cause right now she is LEARNING how to paint with a rattle can, and I for one think that for a work in progress this looks amazing, don't be angry because you could never do it yourself

When I do bodywork, I take the time to do it right. I use the proper equipment, I do the proper prep, I buy quality materials, and put pride into the quality and finish of my work. This is reflected readily in the quality of the finished product. Again, let's see how this looks a year from now.
BTW, when you call someone else an idiot, try not to do it in a ridiculous run on sentence that would flunk you out of elementary classes.

Did you read what I said? cause your reply smacks of idiocy still, if I was writing a paper for class, no I wouldn't type rediculous run ons, but I'm not writing for my professor, it appears I'm writing for a simpleton. Reading throughout the thread it would seem to me she means to fill in the dents when she has gotten good enough to keep the paint job

I didnt read the last 5 pages of this thread so I dont know what it has turned into, but I looked at the pictures and think you did an excellent job with what you had, undoubtedly there were people that said it sucked just because it was rattle canned, but it could have turned out much worse. I would like to see how you do with an HVLP spraygun and an airbrush...... and real automotive paint =D Nice work.

Thanks for the laugh, buddy.
When you pass your reading comprehension class, you might figure out that I never critized the quality of her work. Its very good for spray paint. I criticised her choice of materials, her choice of bodywork, and I criticised the other forum members for kissing her ******* despite her other god awful mods simply because she was female.
