Satin is in between flat and gloss paint.

Nice wheels are also very important, a nice satin paintjob with stock wheels doesn't look that cool at all, it looks more like the car just has primer on it.
The trick to a good flatblack look is to get the car painted black with regular automotive paint and then give that a satin clearcoat instead of the regular gloss/glass paint.

Damn, didn't realize these Matte or Flat paint jobs could go soooo wrong LoL. Some of the one's pictures (Mercedes aside) look like crap. Does anyone know how well this finish holds up to road conditions? I wouldn't think very well, but I'd like to confirm.
