I think it only looks ok if done right. I have seen way to many botch jobs that looked disgusting. Someone on here has a flat black gtr that looked pretty mean.

Doesn't look right in my opinion. The doors and fenders don't match.

Satin is in between flat and gloss paint.

bad:

good:

Nice wheels are also very important, a nice satin paintjob with stock wheels doesn't look that cool at all, it looks more like the car just has primer on it.
The trick to a good flatblack look is to get the car painted black with regular automotive paint and then give that a satin clearcoat instead of the regular gloss/glass paint.

One of the members from Kuwait has a flat black FD. It was even for sale recently:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-rx-7-1993-2002-vehicles-107/fs-c-west-matt-black-rx7-r1-93-kuwait-795068/

Also posted some bad quality pictures in the 3rd Gen pictures thread, scroll down:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...in#post8593011

I say go for it, but it will look better in a satin finish on a kitted/widebodied car with some black rims.

Damn, didn't realize these Matte or Flat paint jobs could go soooo wrong LoL. Some of the one's pictures (Mercedes aside) look like crap. Does anyone know how well this finish holds up to road conditions? I wouldn't think very well, but I'd like to confirm.
