Where'd you put you Haltech in your 2 gen?
My question is just that, where did everyone mount their Haltech? I just got mine and i don't know where i should mount it. Its a TII where did you guys put yours?
I too, in the beginning put mine in the glove box. However, without cutting another hole in the firewall, it simply used too much of the available wiring harness. Mine is now mounted where the stock ecu is. I probably gained atleast 1 foot of harness moving it there. Its not really practical anywhere else IMHO.
depends on your car, and what you have wired in. i pulled out my entire car wiring harness and removed 90% of the wiring which isn't used, thats like 70% of the entire wiring harness gone. Also, beind right hand drive i have things in different places........
I have remove my heater. air cond box etc etc etc so i have the TPS, intake air temp sensor and the CAS wiring going thru one heater pipe hole, and the injectors, coolant temp sensor, boost control etc going thru the other hole, the coil/ignitor wiring goes thru the factory hole in the firewall where the loom normally goes thru, which is also where my joining bars between the rollcage and the strutt towers goes thru, so it all leads to a very tidy install, especially with the coils mounted down on the chassis rail next to the spark plugs.
Cheers

Shane, your lucky to have that setup. Im going to hope I can fix my A/C for cheap, so that would eliminate those holes. We have to run our ignition wires across the bay.
could you not run the ignition wires along inside the car then go thru somewhere like where the speedo cable goes thru? its probably no shorter but i would lessen the chane of interference i would have thought

I have mine in the stock location. I made some brackets and secured it to the factory bracket. If memory serves me correctly, I have the plug on the bottom. The wires go through the factory hole for the factory engine harness which I completely removed.
That could be a problem for me Shane since im lazy, haha. I think ill just stick to having them all come out the same place. Alot of them share a ground anyway, unless theres a way around that.
I modified the stock ECU bracket to use 3 of the 4 mounting holes on the ECU. The harness attaches to the right side, and visually, the ECU is upside down.

I also mounted mine in the glove box. Instead of running out the existing ECU hole, I ran it inside to the drivers side, used a hole saw to make a 1" hole in the firewall just above the accelerator pedal, added a rubber grommet and into the engine bay. I did this to avoid all of the heat that is around the downpipe and turbo. I only had to extend the injector wires to fit. Everything else is long enough. Wiring should last much longer.
I stuck mine up vertical on the passenger side where the knock sensor and other now obsolete boxes were. It is closer to the hole in the firewall, farther from downpipe heat and easier to run the computer cable to the laptop.
My harness runs up and along the firewall to avoid the heat of running close to the turbo. It runs just under the firewall's "lip" and then down onto the engine; the ignition and PWM wires continue on between the brake vacuum booster and firewall to the coil area. It is all wrapped w/ aluminum covered fiberglass tape for further heat resistance.
There are no wires or anything on the passenger side of the engine bay- the lighting wires were re-run through the relief valve silencer "dip" in the undertray and into where the windshield washer reservoir was.

Here is a goofy pic of where it is:
