Going S5 TII to REW engine..Info needed.

My S5 TII let go and trying to get a replacement is like pulling teeth.
So I bought a REW Street port Stage 3 (rx7store engine).

Since my sensors are half S5 (FC) and the upper was an FD on the old setup,I am wondering what I would need to get this hooked up to my old Haltech harness.(PS1000)

Running aem smart coils,so no problem there.I just need to know if I strip the engine down to "bare essentials" if it will be like the old S5 setup.

If I can hook up my old fuel system (1000/2000) to the engine is there any problems with trying to start the engine up?. (it started great when it was operational before).Or do I need to alter any settings?
Does the FD FFE trigger plug in the same way as the FC FFE trigger?.do I need to alter the settings on that?

the only change in sensors is the FD uses delco curve for air temp,, whilst FC had a unique nippon denso curve ,, you will have to swap air temp senders or recalibrate
( usually with haltech you may already be using a delco curve sender anyhow )

you will need to change to top feed fuel rails to use your injectors

an FFE crank mounted trigger transferred from one block to another should be the same on both setups ?

however if going from 24/2 stock FC to 12/1 stock FD trigger there may be some shift in the trigger tooth and trigger angle settings , try the recommended numbers , nothing new

If you are using the FC FFE trigger kit on the REW motor it should be plug and play.
Now if you are using a FD FFE trigger kit there may be some changes needed on the software if the wheel does not have the same pattern as the FC wheel other than that they both use the same sensor.
When i went REW after blowing up my S5 I used all the sensor that were on my S5.
Cosmo tps
delco air temp
gm air temp
same fuel setup(different rails)
LT9C on rx8 mode 2 run FFE kit
LS1 coils
and it started right up,but that is on microtech and i have no experience with haltech.Car is under the knife again after a small electrical fire.

Ya,I am not exactly sure what the engine is setup with, even though it is bought and paid for.
I'm thinking at the most,I would do a S4 TII Front cover on it and do away with the REW Waterpump setup.Change the Trigger setup if I have to.Fuel rails are no problem,I don't really like the FD Side feed setup anyways.

Thanks for the replies,I'm anxious to get the engine here so I can start on it.Even if I have to change stuff at least I know I got Graet people here to ask about the ECU..lol!

Have you decided how are you gonna install the rew motor on the fc chassis.
I have been looking into the rew water pump swap 2 and use serpentine belts instead of my gilmer setup...................i want my AC back!

I tried to see if anyone who did the swap would give me pointers or lead me towards a guy that made mounts.
The only definite answer that I got was Adam Fournier @ Motivefab who makes the mounts.
Since I am not equipped to weld and I am working an a 3 foot space..well you know..I broke down and bought the mounts.
I'll see how they go and I told Adam I would "review" them and post my findings on the Club.

Well they are not that hard 2 make but it all depends on what ignition sistem you want 2 use.
If using the FD oil pan and cover you can just weld a piece of steel like another crossmember towards the back on the engine bay and bolt the stock brackets and mounts or just bolt on the block solid 2 the bar.If FC oil pan and cover is gonna be use drill and tap the passenger side of the block and use stock fc mount and for the driver is at easy as adding a metal piece 2 reach the top bolt on the center iron and another piece 2 the front of the motor so it connects 2 one of the front bolts on the block and done.

That's all nice but I don't have a WELDER!..and I to hire one would be just about as much as having to buy the mounts already made!
I don't weld,I have no room..Hell I am lucky I could put a portable garage up.

So,I bought them and they are in the mail,we'll see what happens.

NOW if I can get the seller of the engine to send me my Freakin engine that may help.

Oh,When the engine gets here.I am going to be looking at S4 Front cover and pump.It may be easier to work with.Besides my FFE trigger and pulley system would go with all this stuff.

The FC oil pan won't exactly fit the REW either. The rear iron will have some holes in a couple different spots. Not a big deal. Think we drilled and tapped a couple new holes on the one we did. Just use some Right Stuff when you put it back together and you should be good.

You have 2 fill in the original engine bracket bolt holes and drill and tap one hole for the oil pan 2 seal perfectly! Not a big deal. The s4 front cover will fit but the front rew iron has a extra hole for the rew cover but that wont affect anything.

Hold on if you are using a s4 front cover with the rew oil pan you are gonna have issues. The rew oil pan profile wont match the s4 front cover and you are gonna have 2 do some mods. You are gonna have 2 big holes on the front corners of the motor and the only way 2 fix it is modding the pan(WELDING)
