Was the harness plugged into the ECU when you did the continuity check? If it was, unplug it and try it again.

It was plugged in when I checked the actual wires. It was disconnected when I checked pin 21 and 22.

Bringing this back.

So today I ripped the harness out of the car. I'm moving my battery to the cabin and want to clean up the bay some more. I decided to check the wbo2 stuff again after the harness was removed. I have no continuity between the orange wire and the shielding wire. However, the road speed wire and shield does.

Everything checks out otherwise. I'm curios as to what will happen when I re-install the harness.

My problems were that my 02 input wouldn't read the AEM voltage.

My fan DPO didn't work.

Any thoughts?

Should I be connecting it like this?

from experience, i have not grounded the shield to anything. it should already be grounded in the harness.

I see. Well, the harness should be going back into the car after the weekend or so.

Correct, you do not connect the shield to anything at the sensor end. Cut back and cover the end with heat shrink so that the shielding doesn't short to anything.

I've done everything stated in this thread.. im out of ideas. got it all plugged in yesterday, started it up. AV1 just sits at 2.5 volts.. all of the grounds checked out, everything. im starting to think it could be the ECU.. im going to try and back probe the Av1 wire with the AEM wire, and see if i can get a reading.

Other that that, this car runs awesome. I cleaned up some grounds and it seems to run a lot smoother.

the output wire for the AEM sweeps voltage fine. its the Anolog input for the haltech the seems to just not even care what the AEM says.

what did you get when you unplugged the harness and did a continuity check?

Shielding to ground had continuity, Ground to Av1 showed nothing.. That means no short right?

Hopefully going to be able to get back in it on Tuesday. If anyone as any ideas please share them.

There isn't another ground that needs to be hooked up anywhere is there? Just a thought.. I wouldn't think so if everything else in ecu is working... But just an idea

no. its just one wire, however, if the grounding sheath isnt itself grounded properly as per the manual, then you could have issues.

ok i know its probably not the case but make sure that where the grounds in the ecu all connect that they are a solid connection... on my e6k all the the grounds connect at one pin to the ecu if i remember correctly...
