e8 vs sport 1000? which one?

just looking for some opinions. as of right now im either going to a used e8 or a new sport 1000.

all this is for a single turbo 3rd gen. not looking for serious hp right now, but it does need control since I have a single. prob down the line ill be going for more power.

so as it looks its around 250-300 to go for a new platinum as compared to a used e8. any opinions?

Is that mainly based on the new software interface or the computer itself ?

Id love the get the sport 1000 (as I have a E8) but don't know if its worthwhile upgrading. (+ more important things to upgrade first)

It's all in the software. With the exception of the direct USB connection, on board MAP sensor, and dedicated CAN connector the hardware is the same. The latest Data Log Viewer now lets you view the .csv format for the older E8/11 which helps make the data logging a lot more functional. If you have the car running with the E8/11 there isn't much to be gained with the Sport series.

I disagree. The new platinum software is so much better then the older software, most DIYers etc will find the new ecu much more friendly. Alot quicker to tune up. Youll end up with less wholes in your tune. Its also much more stable in my opinion and the Crank signal is so clean and very hard to disturb compared to before.

Nightmares from E6K/E6X still haunt me.lol.
