sorry for the delays, this project is no where near dead.

unfortunately due to weather and shitty salty roads, james is unable to come down for a bit. it shouldn't be long though as it is getting a bit nicer out.

also i thought i would throw some pics from the very beginning design process.
this was based almost entirely off the scoot 4 rotor's lights

i just dont want people to think that it is going the way of so many home grown kits.

it seems like there are countless "im going to produce a sleek kit" threads and then they fizzle out with no results. I think most of these guys plan on making money but fail to plan out their production while doing the project. i have carefully considered everything im using for production purposes. Now, dont think i have made any compromises to do so. it actually usually means spending more money (less profit) to have a readily available component. for example the light modules, i could buy hid projectors off ebay (like the ones you find used in retrofits) for $140-150, but instead i chose brand new hella projectors that cost $350 for a complete set.
I also chose to out source the shrouds to shine, because i know that it will be a quality piece. i could make them for like 1/6th of what shine charges me, but this way quality is no problem.
also the steel brackets are laser cut based on my cad design, insuring consistent quality.

so as you can see i have sacrificed quite a bit of profit to insure everyone is more than happy with the quality of the product.

i guess in hindsight i could have gone the cheaper route like other makers of sleek kits, and done it cheaply and made a ton of profit. some of those kits we are familiar with have $60 in lighting and i cant imagine its more than $300 total for the rest of the components and charge $900+. even the HID options are only the cheap ebay PnP HIDs. which are like $20.

The big problem with these kits is they are made with the intentions of making a lot of money, so either quality is sacrificed or the projects never finish. to be honest my main goal initially was to make a kit for myself and a few more to recoup the cost of designing it. now it has morphed into a huge desire to see my kit in a tuner mag, even better see it on a cover story vehicle.

i am duplicating david hayes' sleepy eye kit. the visible shroud will be made by shine, just like my sleek kit. the brackets are laser cut steel, just like mine. and the lighting is also hella modules for both. both kits use a 50mm low beam, the sleek kit uses a 60 mm high, and the sleepy kit use a 90mm high.

so if youre interested there is an option.
