new sleek kit
Bump... I've been working on headlights myself since april of last year. I really wish I would have came across this thread before hand. You have put a lot more time and effort into these as mine use the evo housing with the projector lens and halo from a bmw. Only a single lens with low and high beam that I might eventually convert to an hid system. The only difference is I don't have a cover they are a pain in the ***. They crack if you try to rivet or screw even drilling pilot holes so I nixt the cover and sealed projector with the black gasket weather sealant works pretty good and you don't get the reflection dampening the light from the bulb off of the cover

thanks guys. im really close picked up a new dremel last night and made some good progress. i should have one virtually complete tonight and the other side shouldnt be far behind. ill let you see tonight when im finished with the driver side.
You know once you are done. to make a cleaner mold you can get plaster of Paris from hobby lobby or Michael's. slightly liquefy it in a bin large enough for the original you hand made than lay it with fiberglass and resin to make a much neater product so you can see what the end result will be for production, just in case you need to change anything. That and if it turns out well you can produce and sell them yourself to cut out the middle man. Its a little more work but 100% profit

i initially considered doing them myself but im not confident in my abilities to make the shrouds in what i consider sell-able quality. that is not something anyone has to be concerned with if i have Shine make them.
also i will have new pics of the driver side posted shortly. it looks damn good!

it will be either carbon of fiberglass, not 100%. if glass its best to paint them (likely body color), if carbon i could see people going either way (painted or not).
regardless of the material, i will not be painting them, that is the customers responsibility.

Perfectly happy with that. Nice work so far - look forward to the next instalment of pics. What do you reckon (I know this must be an annoying question for you) is the rough timeline on this going forward?
Well that depends on a few thing. I have to drive 150 miles out there everytime we need to work on the lights, we only get a couple days together to work on them due to work and school schedules. We are hoping to have it done within the next two months. I'm trying to get out there again ad soon as possible to finish the driver side and start finishing the passenger side which should go a little faster now that we have somewhat of a technique lol. A lot of factors are playing here so bare with dan for completion. I'm sorry we can't get it done faster. I wish we could. Considering I am waiting for one of these as well!!!! Lol.

Ok guys i talked to shine today and its going to happen through them! as of now, the sleek kit will NOT be available in carbon, the lines and curves/contour wont really allow for carbon.

i am planning on doing them simultaneously, once i hear back from shine that one should get moving along. i need to know how long they will need to have david's shrouds to get the molds made. once i know that i will call david and get that going. it shouldnt be too long, but i hope to have both kits going by christmas.
