new sleek kit
i am planning on doing them simultaneously, once i hear back from shine that one should get moving along. i need to know how long they will need to have david's shrouds to get the molds made. once i know that i will call david and get that going. it shouldnt be too long, but i hope to have both kits going by christmas.

it will be groups of 4 to start with. shine will only be able to make 4 sets a month (1 a week). partly due to only having 1 mold, and partly due to their current workload, b/c of 7stock.
once shine's work load is lightened, and if demand for my kit is high enough, i may commission them to make another mold, potentially doubling output. unfortunately the kit production is limited by the shroud production.

You know another way you could do this yourself is to make a DIY vacuum former and purchase some probably 1/4 inch thick ABS plastic sheets and vacuum form your original mold they will be virtually indistructable might cost you 200 to set up..... I know you can get a vacation pump with enough power off of eBay for under a 100 from there its making a table with perforated board for a base which you can get at home depots then find a junk oven or stove steal the heating element out of it hook.it up to power source and bling. Yes much easier siad then done but vac forming easy and will give you a seamless clean end result
YouTube vacuum former and it will give you some ideas. But don't get me wrong I think shine is a good idea but I know from the sleek kit I got from them its.going to be spendy I paid 600 for mine and I'm in the process of doing this also but with two lights not three and your more creative as mine is more simple and straight forward.

i am actually vacuum forming the lenses. but vacuum forming the shroud will probably result in a number of issues, i prefer the idea of have a reinforced polymer, for additional strength.

Been following your work for a long time. Congratulations mate, looks like perseverance has certainly paid off
Dan, if you're interested in making some quick cash, I'd be interested in buying a couple sets of clear lenses from you. I figure that since it's the shroud that'll be slowing things down, it wouldn't hold anything up and you'll get some extra $$

just an addition, the driver side is essentially done. the passenger side is not in bad shape as of now. we got the the shape and spacing between the shroud and body panels is pretty close. i hope to have the mounting flange attached and have the holes for the lights trimmed and fitting correctly. this should allow for us to get very close to done the next time james comes down.

i will talk to ken at shine and find out what surface finish is best to make the mold. if painted is the best way i will post some pics after paint.

thanks, i just wish i had more composite experience, but this has been good practice.
in hind sight it was probably more than i should have taken on for like my 2nd project (first being a rather simple sub box). but the second one should be a fair amount quicker because i invested in some new tools, and have a better idea how it will go. with the first shroud every problem was a new, so it took some thinking to fix. now i know the solutions to the issues i ran into, and am better able to prepare and avoid the issues all together. also modifications to brackets resulted in a couple of weeks set back with each mod, with the second side everything is symmetrical so there wont be any bracket modding.
