fc3s91, due to rules in scca and other car clubs....I have to make this kit work without removing or modifying any factory frame support/structure assembly. On the FD there is a front frame rail support bracket. I was able to modify this because in fact it was just a support bracket and not a frame support. So for the FC I will follow the same rules. The goal is not to just make a vmoount kit because it is cool. The goal it to make a kit that you can buy and hit the track legally with out any issues. Also when we change our radiator and intercooler this should have no effect on smog and this set-up is legal in CA. My vmount kits do not remove any emissions equipment and do not modify intake of exhaust. I simply change the radiator and intercooler which has nothing to do with emissions.

FC3S nataku, after reviewing the front bumper and such, I believe I will have to provide ducting. The FD does not come with ducting but it is optional. The gap on the FD at the v section sits next to the frame rails and is not that small. On the FC it looks to be a bit bigger.

I will tray to apply the same ps cooler in the back of the vmount. On winding roads the ps pump/rack/fluid gets allot warmer. I want to give the same protection to the FC.

Rotary works does have a good kit for the money. But my cost in parts alone will cost what they are selling their kit for. I think their kit is great for the money. My kit will be designed differently.

Just keep in mind that I will have 3 kits to suite your power needs like on my FD kits. I want everyone to have the correct set-up for their application.

Ben

This is good news. I hate that rotaryworks made a kit that removes the frame support. Also the kit did not come with ducting. Keep up the good work. I'll be waiting for your kit.
Thanks Robert

That's actually the main reason I'm looking forward to this kit so much, is that so many other kits make you take out the bumper support which in my opinion is just dumb....

LOL, well.....

I received Naders car today. It is in the shop.

I have to do the following things before I can get to the FC.

1. Install turbo kit on an RX8 4-3-09 to 4-9-09
2. Install RX7 twin turbo vmount. 4-12-09 to 4-17-09

So the first two weeks are already dedicated.

But anyways, I have Nader's FC and I will be taking measurements and working with some mock-ups.

I want the base kit (low power 300whp and lower)to allow you to keep the factory airbox and battery. I have seen where people just modify the stock turbo and want to keep the other things still plumed to it.

The track kit (med to high pwr up to 450whp) and drag kit (high pwr above 500whp) will not be able to use the factory air box and I will offer the same mini battery for the FC that I have for the FD.

I am playing with alot of ideas. I may have to mount some things differently, but functionality is the number one goal.

I will keep you guys updated.

However, I need to see an FC with factory working Power Steering system and A/C system. Naders car has the PS deleted/blocked off and the A/C pump is gone. I need a factory set-up to work with.

Local guys please pm me. Rishie, does you car have these items? Please let me know.

Ben

I said earlier that I will have 3 kits so that the customer can chose which kit will best fit their application. If your targeting 300whp, you do not want to use a core that is good for 500whp all day long. You will have lag (not alot) and during time attack and touge drivin

Just asking because my current setup is a custom one off and the individual that built it no longer lives in my area. I am considering parting my car out and building another one (lots of stuff I want to update), so I would be needing a new VMount setup. Since I drag only, lag is something I can work around..

J-Rat, well then I guess you'll be wanting the drag kit, the biggest of the 3 cores.

Sorry for lagging on this stuff. I didn't know that the PS was deleted at the rack when I got the car. I'll see if I can get a hold of a pair of lines and bring them down along with the AC pump.

Nader, sorry, I didnt know you would have the ps stuff. I knew you had the AC pump.

I just really want to do a clean job and make sure that everyone will be happy.

The engine bay In the FC is deeper then the FD. This gives me more options.

I should be able to place the oil cooler in a way so that the rad/ic/oil cooler all get fresh air.

I will be able to offer a kit with an upgraded oil cooler.
More important, I will be able to offer the kit without the oil cooler for those of you who already have aftermarket single and dual oil coolers.

I will also make a twin 25 row oil cooler kit for the FC as well.

I'm fairly certain that I saw a pair of PS lines when I was rooting through Mark's stuff. I'll take another gander tomorrow and let you know. If I do have them, i'll bring them down as well as the AC pump and we can get rolling.

Sound good?

I will be starting next week.

I had ordered something from PWR lately and the part was out of spec. I told PWR about it and so now anytime I get this part I have to pre-check it before I make my kit with it.

I will be working on a radiator/oil cooler combo so that the temps between these two stay relatively close so that there is no thermal shock to the engine.

I learn from you guys, from research, from people who have a lot of track experience.

This is why I make these kits, not to just make it a say here ya go. To make it so that the **** works!!!

I can tell you that the set-up will be similar to the FD vmount. The only thing that will be stacked will be the ac on top of the radiator for those of you who will want to keep your AC.

Everything else will have direct air going to it.

I just hope everyone keeps in mind that having a vented hood will give you the best benefit with a vmount.

Thanks, Ben

Do you have a suggestion to which vented hood will work best with your design of this v-mounts.
Panspeed, Dmax D1 spec, VIS Drift Style, Carbon Creations D1 or will any work just the same?

Thanks in advance.

Cant wait to see the pics of this.

Honestly, I think it would need to be wind tunnel tested to see which one works best. But I am sure that most would agree that any vented hood will work great.
