MaczPayne,

and everyone else, please post pictures of what ever strut tower bars you have. I want to make sure that I can make the kit clear them with the piping. I understand that some may be positioned different then others. I also need to see how the FD uim and elbow will be affected with what you guys have.

The base I/C kit should allow you to keep your factory airbox and battery in the stock locations.

eage8, that looks like a nice size rad core. It looks like going to FD uim and TB would interfere with the strut tower bars.

yeah... it was

It's an AWR radiator that my fiero e-fan ate when the center bolt came loose... That's another reason I'm looking forward to your kit. I've been using the stock radiator since then

well the plans have changed just for a little bit in my rad/oil cooler config. But I am modifying the stock koyo to work for vmount that way it will still have all the sensors and hose attachments like the stock set-up. The koyo is 2 and 1/16 thick so its pretty good. The fan kit will be a dual fan kit. I will most likey included a modified water pump pulley to ditch the bolts for the stock clutch fan or you guys can just tap out the bolts on your stock ones. This may make the kit go up a bit, but like I said, I need the kit to be a complete bolt on to where as no one will need to buy anything extra to make it work.

Does anyone know if the strut braces offered from aftermarket manufactures clear the FD uim and FD elbow swap? I will still make it an option, but it will suck if you are no longer to use the strut brace you have.

Funkspectrum, you have any info on this for the thread?

This sounds like a great product. I was going to buy one from rotary works but read some negative things. If this stays in production after group buy i'll definatelly get your's instead after reading all this and your thoughts on building with only grade a parts. And the whole complete kit with no hidden parts to buy sells yours too.

Thank you.

The group buy is just for introductory pricing and specials. Once I make the kit it will stay in production for as long as I own the company and the core parts are available from the industry.

Rotary Works kit is a great product for the price they offer it for. But like it says it does leave you to buy some additional things to make it as complete as possible. For what you spend for both you will get your moneys worth. Rotary Works is like the base model that will get the job done. The kit I am offering will be more expensive but you will get everything you will need and I am making it so that it will work with the option of using the FD intake parts.

I really wish that I did the welding myself that way I can bring the price down, but I have to pay someone to do that. That is also where other shops can save money for you guys, sorry I am unable to do that at this time.

But none the less I will try to make the best product that I can.

Oh yeah, I am making a hood damper kit for the FC, should be done next week.

Uses same parts as the FD hood damper kit I have except the brackets for the hood is different for obvious reasons. Kit uses 40lbs shocks for each side with cnc'd brackets. It will be enough to lift those heavy FC turbo hoods.

FC hood damper kit.

I will make a seperate GB thread for these but they are normally 160 plus 15 shipped, 175 total.

They will also come with the longer bolts to go through the hood damper bracket and hood hinge.

GB price will be around 150 shipped lower 48 states.

It will be much easier to install the vmount kit with these..hint hint..lol

Enjoy the prototype pics.

Just if you guy are wondering like I was, here are the differences between the koyo S4 and koyo S5 radiators.

Both have.
1. same upper and (lower/w additional lower input hose)
2. all the same fittings for the stock sensors

Where they differ
1. S4 has rad cap on top of tank, S5 has rad cap on an extension pipe
2. S4 has a bleed plug on the upper neck, the S5 does not
3. the S4 core is 17" high vs S5 16" high
4. the S4 core is 21" wide vs S5 22" wide. (the S5 either has slightly larger fins or an extra row, I did not count them, but itis a hair wider.

I am going with the S5 core for the vmount because I can modify the rad cap extension neck to allow easy access to the radiator fluid. The top bleeder will not be needed and it has all the same sensor fittings. It will also be converted to 2 pass like our FD vmount rad. The core is also 2 and 1/16 thick.

The I/C piping going to the Intake will most likely be ovalized to get it pass the ps and a/c pump. I do not want to go with a small diameter pipe, I will be able to get more air through with a ovalized pipe.

Thats it for now.

Have a good weekend.

Update:

1. Oil cooler does get relocated and I will provide you with the adapters and pre-tested oil lines in the kit. They will be tested to 500psi and come with tags on the lines that they were tested.

2. A/C fan is retained/relocated to work with the a/c condensor. Some slight bending is required to use the a/c but the lines are long enough to allow this. The break points will not be at the nuts next to the condensor. These connections are old and usually frozen. I will show where to break the connection at a safe place in the instructions. I will try to include o-rings to replace the ones at these connections.

3. All sensors are retained and will come with extension wires.

4. You must relocate your battery or get our mini battery kit that I am making for the FC.

5. The stock airbox will work with the low power kit.

6-a. Low power I/C core rated at 310hp, perfect for stock and all bolt-ons.
b. Mid power - 475hp, perfect for track and turbo upgrade.
c. High Power - 600hp, great for all you drag 1/4 mile guys

All cores have already been choosen based on space available.

* Horsepower rating shown for nominal operating conditions. Maximum horsepower potential will be higher than the listed values<--- from garretts site.

7. will come with ducting for the rad and oil cooler.

8. comes with fan assembly for rad.

9. p/s cooler not needed, it is an 150 option. But after review, the p/s lines are in the front and are the very first thing to hit cold air. also it does not get in the way of anything.

10. Like I said before, stock airbox works with low power vmount. You'll need to remove it for the two higher power kits.

11. The kit does not sit any lower then the two brackets that support the factory oil-cooler.

12. No cutting, drillings, welding - COMPLETE BOLT ON!

13. For you guys using the FD uim, tb, and greddy elbow: I will address this AFTER I finish the kit for the stock FC mannifold.

All vmount kits will need you to get the FC Greddy Elbow.

14. Kits will come standard with silicone hoses and T-bolt clamps for the I/C pipes and special worm drive clamps for the rad hoses. The special worm drive clamps have raised teeth that the screw rides on and is completely flat underneath. They will not have open grooves that cut into the hoses like the cheap clamps.

The kit is being designed on a 10th AE turbo II. This means that I will need to do an install on an S5 to make sure that the kit works for both S4 and S5 cars.

Who is 100% for sure buying this kit with an S5. The deal is you buy the kit at the GB price and pay for your a/c recharge witch is around 140. You drive your car to our shop, I'll do the conversion and if all goes well you'll get it back in a few days. I will need 200. This covers new oil change with your choice of oil and oil filter and your choice of radiator fluid and also covers my shop fee for the week.

MaczPayne, you have first dibs if you have an S5.

I will also make the online install instructions at that time.

Kit will not be ready by end of november, but will be done in December sometime.

All is looking good, they layout is done. Just making prototype steel brackets (because I can weld good enough in steel to make the metal stick together..lol) that will be copied by my fabricator in aluminum. This kit will contian alot of parts and you will need to remove your front bumper to make it easy for you to install the kit and to prevent any accidental scrathes. Also you will still be able to use the stock plastic covers that fit where the hood latch is. They will help guide air to the set-up. And you guys should buy the new FC hood damper kit so the stock hood prop does not get in the way of your install....lol Oh yeah, who wants that stock hood prop in the way of some nice vmount photos...lol

Thats it for now. I will only show pics of the kit completed.

still 2k traget price, but it has EVERYTHING you will need!

Ben

Haha, we can arrange that. You don't have to sleep on the couch, we have a guest room you can use. I do my own a/c charging so no problems there

I'm just recently returning to rotaries and I'm looking forward to seeing the v-mount and am interested in the hood kit as well.

I am curious what your shipping policy is for APO addresses (US Military Overseas).

MaczPayne,

Cool, then it sounds like a deal. I will make the installtion instructions using your car and list the differences between the S4 and S5 if any on my kit. Once the kit is done and the GB opens I hope we can set a date to do this.

Alldayboard,

2k seems to look like a good target price, but just get in on the GB because you'll save some cash.

Blk87turbo2,

You get military discount if your in the service, but we will work on those details later if you make a purchase. I ship world wide. Unfortunately there are no usps flat rate boxes tat will fit a vmount. It is weird, some APO's need customs and some don't. Anyways if they treat yours like a US service then shipping is around 100 to 150. If they treat you international it will be anywhere from 250 to 400!!!!! But that is where your military discount can come into play and save you a hundred on international shipping.

All,

Final revesion of the hood damper kit should be done next week. I had to modify it to clear the rubber bumpers that are near the hinges towards the back of the hood. I also had to order some stronger shocks because the Turbo II hood is f-in heavy....lol The new hood dampers will have "RE" engraved on them and they are side dependent. (non-interchangable)
