Cool

If this all comes together when it's cooler outside...that will be fine with me.

There isn't much money made on those items, if we can gather 5+ people to want to buy a rack along with it, then yes, otherwise, the best I can do is just take off 10$ off the rack price.

Well the total with shipping and the cost of a rack added to it usually comes close to
1050$ (at group buy rate) or around 1150$ (at regular price). But I think everyone already knew that.

All the parts required are in the kit and nothing that is stock is really reused (minus control arms)

How much easier does the car steer with the 20:1 vs the 15:1. I already find the steering much tougher due to the wider sticky tires.

What is the stock oe steering ratio?

If I'm ordering the rack elsewhere, is this the correct rack to order?

I'm not sure if this one will work, it doesn't say what year its off of. You may have to call Unisteer and find out through them.

This is what it says in the FSM: "17.0~20.0:1" thats quite the tolerance level or it could be a difference between manual and power steering.

As for driving, I have the 15:1 rack in my car and I can honestly drive it with 2 fingers even at lower speed. The only time I use both my hands is parking, but that will be required regardless of rack choice.

My tires are 225/45/15, not sure how big yours are but I believe thats the biggest you can go under stock fenders. There is a bit of a trick though that people don't realize I guess sometimes of why I can drive my car with 2 fingers really. Its all in the alignment of the front tires really. I run just a hair of toe out ( ~0.05") and a little over 2 degrees of camber.

With the toe being as close to zero as possible, the car rides with less "fighting" between the wheel making it easier to steer in that sense. The camber helps in reducing the patch slightly, making it also feel like a smaller tire. For me, because I do road course track days, I have never had issues with the inside of the tires wearing out, I've always actually had a really even wear on the tires. But you should possibly consider rotating more often if just daily driven.

Excited.

I need to know if this system will fit with my 1st gen widebody. Lots of mods including I believe control arms. Mods I know are RB Delloro sidedraft intake, Headers, All Control arm(unsure?, definite all bushings), RotaryEngineering swaybars front and back with front "D-Ring, Tokico adjustable shocks/struts. Will need to look at more reciept/documents to confirm steering setup now. I know I want tighter handling and ease of steering than I am in. I am sure there is more to this babe than meets the eue.

I haven't been on the forum for over a month, and I had this group buy on my mind. What I surprise to see that the GP only needs one more. I know my steering is bad. And the idler-arm and gearbox are shot. This upgrade makes a whole lot more sense than spending the money to go back to stock. I just wasn't prepared to make this decision right now.

Spending priorities and time are some obstacles.

Not to hold up the GP. But I should know what I'm going to do after Labor Day.

If nothing has been modified to the stock system in terms of the cross member itself, the kit should fit up on your car with no issues. You still re-use the same arms (but you flip them around) and everything else stays the same.

If you join the Forum on our website, you can access the Manual that we provide with it so that you can see what all you need to do to install it

Here's what I'll do for you since I know you've kinda been waiting for one for a little while. Since most cost reduction is through the laser cutting batches, I'll have another one on top of what I need from this group buy laser cut. And I'll honor you the same price for another 45 days after the beginning of production day

Kind of off topic, but seeing this reminded me.

The bellows on my Flaming River rack are very cracked after only a couple of years. No idea what caused them to wear so fast, our climate is mild. Have you heard of this problem, and do you know of any suitable replacement bellows that would last a bit longer?

Truthfully, I had similar issues with them. My bigger issue that I later found out was that Flaming River has their own special inner tie rods (needed replacing after the bellows had been cracked for some while) that can only be ordered through them. I initially had the impression that they can bought for any of those mustang years and be able to swap them in, but after order a couple different ones locally and not being able to fit them on, I called up Flaming River to be told the bad news.

Now the Bellows you can get anywhere really for them. You just need to order them for a f-body mustang just like what the rack is. I personally bought the moog one and they seem to be a better quality.

Just for the record also, none of our current racks are from there any more.
