The ReSpeed Rack and Pinion Kit starts with our adjustable crossmember but does not stop there. The crossmember utilizes Laser cut plates and CNC machined tubing fully welded within a CNC machined welding fixture. The stock front stay rods are replaced with new rear arms that convert the stock lower control arms into lower "A" arms. The new chassis brackets for these two new suspension points are completely bolt in and feature laser cut plates and quality welding throughout. The same adjustable pickup points as the crossmember are carried into the brackets as well. This is a complete suspension and steering upgrade.
Customer will retain their struts, lower control arms, steering arms, upper steering shaft and complete steering shaft housing.

This is a complete suspension and steering upgrade. Our rack choice allows for 20:1 standard ratio and 15:1 quick ratio. The rack used is from one of the longest running production vehicles in history, the "fox" chassis mustang. This means the units as well as replacements parts are readily available. The racks can be purchased separately from ReSpeed or many internet and local sources. They range from $122.00 for a rebuilt unit from your local auto parts store up to $259.00 for the all new brand name units we offer.

Kit Features:

•Adjustable lower control arm pivot points
•Urethane lower "A" arm bushings
•Urethane engine mounting. (Aluminum engine mounting option)
•99% bolt in. Mounts without modification to the chassis.
•Designed to fit both 12A and 13B engines.
•Brand name steering u joints
•Does not hinder the operation of the collapsibility of the stock steering shaft
•Added angle designed into the lower steering linkage for 2 more points of collapsibility.
•Available quick ratio rack that will transform the vehicle into a pleasure to drive.
•Uses stock outer tie rods (Rod End Tie Rod Kit Option).
Kit comes with all the mounting hardware needed. Customer will need to supply: Stock Lower control arms. Stock Outer tie rods. Stock steering column tube. Stock upper steering shaft. Rack sold separately from our choice of ratios or can be picked up at you local auto parts store.

Assembly should be performed by a competent mechanic familiar with the Mazda rx7 steering and suspension system. Vehicle will need alignment when completed. Caster and Toe will absolutely need to be reset. This system offers an adjust ability never before seen on a stock chassis rx7. Hence, the responsibility of the end use of this system falls solely on the end user. There are over 36 forms of adjustment with this system, each one rendering different dynamic changes. Our installation manual will explain the stock locations.

Stock air conditioning pump must be relocated and moved up if equipped.

Product is currently manufactured per order. Please allow 4 weeks delivery. For this slight inconvenience, we will powder coat the crossmember your choice of our standard colors. (link below)

OPTIONAL ENGINE MOUNT: This item replaces the urethane engine bushing with an aluminum engine bushing. This option more solidly mounts your engine to help prevent loss of torque and engine windup during acceleration. - Recommended for Race/Track vehicles.

For FB originally equipped with Power Steering Cars, Do you needed the whole column from a NON PS FB?

You need the upper half of the steering shaft (it seperates in the middle with 2 plastic sheer pins) as well as the whole column tube (for lack of a better term) which you can simply pull out of the steering box, no need to disasemble the box itself.

I believe the whole thing is different on the PS cars, so you will want to get everything from a non-PS car, also when you do that make sure you know the year (mainly if its a SA vs FB column) as the steering box end of the tube is different and Billy will need to know which one you have in order to give you the correct bushing and tube support bracket.

Thanks guys, I am blushing

The power steering housing/shaft are different than non-power steering cars. The parts you require will be the upper steering shaft with the spline for the steering wheel and the "black" outer housing that goes all the way thru the firewall down to the steering box. This is a split housing so you must take care not to slip the split joint when removing it from the steering box.

Billy, any chance you might want to set up a good discount for a Group Buy?

bwaits 11-06-10 11:31 AM

We could setup a GB. If we can get 4 or 5 guys interested, I will work up the price.

I just looked at our last special and they were $750 with $235 15:1 racks.

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-rx-7-1979-1985-parts-101/respeed-stage-ii-rack-pinion-kit-special-910348/

I can do that price again for 3-5 kits. 5+ Kits and I can go to $700 for the kit and $199 for the rack (call it a holiday special :) )

Lets get a count together of interested guys to see where we start the price.

I got money on the 15th. as I said in my email to you before, I am swapping to a LS2 anyway so this is a needed change. I was going to save up for all your products but I can't pass this. Also as a favor would I be able to inspect the box at a later point say spring/summer? I am out of the country and it will arrive at my parents house and wait for my return. Either way, I will be getting the big brake upgrade kit for the front and various other stuff later. Thanks Shawn

Oh, that means yes, I want in. oops I get paid in two days so yes I got money in hand pretty much :)

Oh I didn't know he was that close to Campbell. Yeah, I am having everthing for my build maild to Delaware at my parents and then when I return I gotta load it all on a trailer and drive it back to campbell. I actually was going through the catalog and realized my spending there (previously $1000) is now up to $2000+ I can't wait to get home and build her. Even if I don't do the V8 swap (a small maybe) it will still handle and ride better.

He is in Atlanta but he and I are very good friends.
And yes, get back safely (Thank You for your Service), look me up, and you can drive my ReSpeed car (has 12a) to see what you will have soon.

Just got this set up last year! This is easily the best purchase I have made for the car yet. This is one hell of a deal to get steering and precision handling out of your car!
Man Love for Billy once again!

thunkrd 11-14-10 01:00 PM

i have the stage 1 already.. is there anyway to just get the parts necessary to upgrade to the full kit?

Sure, I will work up a price for you. The manufactured parts are where we can work the most on price so I will not be able to heavily discount it.

ourxseven 11-17-10 11:01 AM

I am not in a huge rush . I can wait

Boss Man 11-17-10 11:03 AM

I'm cool with whatever.

What's everyone else think?

gzfqy6 11-17-10 12:10 PM

I was hoping to have mine installed before January.

Directfreak 11-17-10 12:11 PM

If you have your 5 - Then lets move forward. I need to get this sorted out before I put my engine back in the car.
And I want my car running soon.

Also, if we wait to long, people will spend the cash on X-Mas crap.
