between 180-200F

the thermostat opens at 180F. the C mark is 65c, the H is 105C and the S5 has a centering thing in the gauge, so the middle is 66c-100c.

And the stock gauge on the S5 RX-7 is useless. It has 3 settings: cold, normal, and overheated.

If you really want to know the temperature, you need to get another gauge, read from your EMS if that's an option, or measure the voltage at the ECT sensor.

Alrite so I got an auto meter temp gauge and my car is definitely overheating. I changed the coolant to all new coolant. New thermostat. And new sender unit to. Any suggestions?

What is it running at temp wise? Your radiator might be problematic and the same goes for the water pump/pump belt.

Not sure if that's too hot, but your jeopardizing the health of the engine (apex seals). If the thermostat is working properly (and the factory one is the only one you want to use) then the items mentioned should be a focal point given that you don't have a blockage in the system. Not sure if a blockage would contribute to a hose blowing or not, but perhaps someone else could chime in.

So the blue hose is the one that blew. I wouldn't of even thought that was a coolant line

Did you remove the hose that blew (the one which would have been connected to the other nozzle on the thermowax)?

The item w/the blue hose is the thermowax and this item has two nozzles thus only one nozzle, as seen in the pic, has a hose to it thus it is missing a hose. The nozzle which has no hose is the receiving side of the thermowax so that you only have the exit hose on is perplexing because that hose takes the coolant running through the thermowax and passes it through the system on its way back to the radiator and not the other way around.
