Rotary Building Question
Rotary Building Question
I am about to buy a stock Rx-7 and was wondering what kind of maximum boost will I be looking at with a nearly stock motor (I/DP/E/BOV). I want to make it as fast as possible without doing any type of engine building or turbo conversions. That comes when i pay the car off.
19.475 stone per square cubit.
WHAT RX-7 are you buying? You do know that there were many different models of RX-7s and three different versions of turbo engine imported to the US alone (and three or four more that we did not get)

That particular model tends to run hot and needs attention to the vacuum tubes on the 'rat's nest' (it's a term of endearment). Good luck with your '93 and all its quirks.

I would not go past 10psi without some other mods. You are going to run the risk of popping the motor. You go with the haltech, it will give you more control. I have seen rebuilt motors with 2mm steel seals that can hold 20pis with no probs. When you start cranking up the boost, be ready for a whole new world of problems.
What are the "other mods" you were talking about. Im not gonna buy the car, put a boost controller on, and pump the psi up to 20 lbs or anything. Im just looking for a little more than stock if possible without tearing the motor down just yet. Also, what are the best BPU for rx7-s to start with?
