Exclamation The right oil for the FD

Now when it comes to motor oil for the 3rd gen, what is the best oil to use? Is Mobil 1 full synthetic 10W-30 a good oil to use?

synthetic does't burn very well, so i wouldn't use it if you have an omp.
i premix with my fuel, so i could run synthetic if i wanted to, though.

i've taken a lot of motors apart and haven't ever noticed a difference with the way the internals look depending on any particular brand of oil.

the frequency of oil changes is infinately more important than the type of oil you use.

I use castrol gtx 10w-30 all the time for the past 2 years. Never had a problem related with oil.

Might go with idemitsu this summer though.

20/50 is good in the summer or if you have lots of bearing clearance, but my car produces ~40psi at idle, and peaks around 120 @3k rpm with 10/30 in there. i'll probably run 5w30 next oil change and 10/40 in the summer.

and if anyone REALLY wants to use synthetic, just blow the $13/qt and use torco.
