Oil volume increasing...?

About a month ago I flooded Lucy. Finally got her going again and changed the oil. Drained the old stuff and put in a gallon of Valvoline 10w-30. After a brief test drive and 5mins of cooldown (my auto teacher advises 5mins of cooldown before checking oil level) the dipstick was somewhere around 3/4 between min/max.
I've been checking it regularly as any Wankel owner should, and find that, if anything, the volume of fluid in the lubrication system has increased. Even right after stopping, when there should still be a significant amount of oil in the engine, it is still almost up to the full line.
What the heck? There's no coolant leak because the oil is amber-clear and not milky/frothy. The oil itself smells like gasoline, but there's no way a fuel leak could dump fuel into the oil system, is there? And hot oil would have a volatile smell, right? The car isn't in safe mode or have a check-engine light, so the OMP is still working...
Any ideas?

Sounds like alot of blow-by type of stuff, rotaries normally get gas into the oil but as the oil control rings start to age it will allow more fuel mixture to intrude into the oil system.
