Anyone know what brand has the highest flowing cat convertor
Hi all
I have searched my butt off trying to find what company has the highest flowing large cat convertor but I am lost
Some claim to legal and others claim that the "other manufacturers" one is illegal and race only and wouldnt pass emissions.
Well this is for a race appliccation but I do still need a cat in the class of racing so what is the highest flowing one for race use?
But with all these figures plucked from the air, I dont know who to beleive?
Everyone seems to claim they have the highest flowing cats. NONE seem to have proper test reports on flow though.
Since the exhaust is 4 inch, I really need a 4 inch inlet and outlet so maybe a 5 inch body?
I have found a few of these but I just dont know what flows the best as the figures I have found are far from accurate.
I know the 100 CPSI flow the best compared to 200 or 300 but what else?
From what I have read, I will need a metal one as it handles higher heat and rich air/fuel ratios compared to ceramic and flows a little more.
Also the round barrel ones are supposed to flow more?
Can you get a Cat that flows almost as good as no cat?
I have seen tests on stock cat vs OBD1 vs OBD2 (different level of emmissions standard) vs straight thru pipe but the tests were on a NA civic!
Gains were within a few HP only but I am assuming this would not be the case if it was a very powerful behicle with more then 147hp at the wheels lol..
Any real life tests or experience would be great
A few people have said SMB here:
http://www.smb.net.au/catalyticconverters.htm
Others have said Metal Cat
http://www.metalcat.com.au/
I dont mind if I have to order from overseas (I am in Australia)
Thanks
