not running again!!!!

like a year ago,i sent my '86 rx7 gxl to an import specialist, because mainly it wasn't running, unless you kept revving it to keep it running, they got it running by cleaning the "idle control valve",i can't find this part in my chilton's manual and long story short,it won't run again,so i think it needs to be cleaned again, and i can't afford to send it to that shop again!!!so can anyone tell me where the idle control valve is on my 13b???

Are you looking for the BAC valve (by-pass air control) or the ACV (Air control valve)? Both can affect idle.

it won't idle period,it just turns over, unless you give it some gas then it'll run as long as your on the gas,the second you let off the throttle at all,it stalls

Do you have to be on the throttle a lot? As in you have to be WOT to have it stay alive?

yes you have to stay on throttle constantly keeping it high in rpm's or it will stall,i had the same exact problem before and was told the idle control valve was cleaned to fix it.

Idle problems are not my forte, but it I would be checking for a large vacuum leak.

I believe you should check your compression then check your fuel supply Rear pump filter also when its running if you pour water on the intake does it choke up and die. Baked and broken vac lines,or rock hard, leaky Lower injector seals, or It might have a plugged exaust (Cat ) also make sure your airflow meter and intake pipe are tight , also do both coils work ,lots to check............................................. ....................................good luck ..FP
