Check your injector pulse at the ECU, fuel injectors and ignitors work off the same crank angle sensor pulse, but be sure to check the primary injectors for pulse because the secondarys won't pulse for start up. Also check the ECU plugs behind the passenger kick panel to make sure they didn't come unplugged, same with the ECU plugs on the brain itself. That is the fastest way for troubleshooting spark issues. If you have pulse on the primary injectors check coils for proper resistance and same for plug wires. All this information can be found in a chilton or haynes book. if nothing works check crank angle sensor.

ok so I replaced my fuel pump and still nothing no spark my theory was wrong. I just went and bought a analog multimeter and am having toubles telling whether my resistance is good or not I belive there is to much resistance but I dont know how to translater the analog reading to lets say .3 or 1.0. The reading I am getting on my ohm meter is like 20 which I would believe translates to 2.0 anybody have a clue?????

After changing the tranny did you make sure all cables went back in place?Your primary power feed is also attached to the starter , if the connection is bad or not hooked up you won't get any engine capartment ignition feeds. You can check these at fuse distribution block on driver strut tower(power will be there with key on or off)also on the drivers side back by the firewall is an ignition switch relay(kinda small brassy colored)this is what contols all ignition sources, should click when you turn the key on and off.

Ok so I've pretty much troubleshot it down to the igniter and coil. I tookl my multimeter and checked the harness that connects to the ignitor and there is power before the ignitor but none after the igniter. Leading me to the conclusion the igniter is bad.

Both of them?(leading and trailing)? Car will run on just one or the other, odds of losing both at the same time are pretty rare.

Have you checked for injector pulse yet? I just don't want you to spend alot of money you may not have to spend.

Ignitors (coils) won't have power out until there pulsed by the crank angle sensor.

ok so let me understand this.....

1. The engine will start and run on just the trailing coil?
2. How would that explain having power going into the ignitor but none coming out?
3. If so then do I need to check my CAS or would it be easier to check my injectors?

Thanks, Paul

This is why you have to test everything!!!Don't keep replacing parts you don't have to.Hopefully you wern't saying I told you to replace them because I was trying to guide you through basic troubleshooting of typical components.

Find out what DOES work, then find what dosn't. Compile a list of things you find and write them down(don't replace yet) Usually by the time your list is complete you will be able to do process of elimination and replace one or two parts(hopefully) feel free to give me a call and I'll try to help as much as I can

Yeah I completely understand, free is good .Have you got any closer to finding the problem? Remember patience is a virtue especially when it relates to an RX-7,keep at it man.

Well I figured it out its a bum ECU I checked absolutely everything else and then said screw it and found a guy locally with a s4 NA ECU just to see if it would start. And kazamm turned over for like 1 sec and fired right up. So I purchased a TII ECU off a guy on the forums here. Hopefully running and on the road this week.
