Need help getting this car going

1987 2nd gen

Have a fairly long thread in 2nd gen section. I’ve done a lot and tested lots and still struggling. Where I am at right now is car is flooding badly. So bad that it’s coming out of the exhaust.

what I’ve done:
Replaced and tested Fuel pump (key on and cranking its 35psi)
new tps
Remanu maf
new thermosensor (behind alternator and bottom of rad)
New plugs new wires
Tested compression cylinders 1 (110,110,110)
2nd cylinder (105,105, 90)
fuel filter
o2 sensor
Tested bac
replaced intake gasket
Replaced pressure regulator
serviced and tested injectors
new battery
nex exhaust
got it running a few times by unplugging maf and tested vacuum

was going to start backstabbing ecu. Any help appreciated

I think you are on the correct path here. Back probing the ecu might have been done first before replacing parts.

The O2 sensor only works in 5th gear. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

Also, if you haven't warmed the car up completely, give that a try. Hopefully you have a catalytic converter, that will help to. I am not sure that if the stock start assistance isn't present how long it takes to get the catalytic converter hot enough to work.
Check for vacuum leaks if you haven't yet.
Don't skip over testing the solenoids by the way.
Report back with the back probing results, perhaps your results will be helpful.

Injector stuck open maybe? Pull the fuel pump fuse, does it still flood?
I see you had them "serviced" but......

Does not flood after pulling fuse, cleared cylinders by pulling plugs and cranking…. Compression looks good. Tested almost every item. Back probing might be where I’m heading next.

bought a new tps but I did resistance test and to reach 1 ohm it’s almost screwed all the way tight…. Seems off

I am not super good yet at diagnosing these cars yet. As far as I can remember, if you haven't disabled the thermowax, the measurement will be off when the car is cold. You need a fully warmed engine to adjust the TPS. I will not get into the different methods and which is better here, pick one or both and give it a try.

I haven’t touched the thermostat at all, worried about breaking it as it looks fragile. I can get rid of it altogether?

The thermostat and the thermowax are different things. Yes you need the thermostat. test it, it can keep your car from starting. Those are fairly cheap to replace. The thermowax is what adjusts the idle as the car warms up. Do some searching for both.

sorry that was a spell check correction, thermostat has been replaced, I did not touch thermowax . Looks to fragile to mess with

No need to apologize. You are only hurting yourself here with bad spell corrections.
I beleve that I have read your other thread. You have done a lot of work and it is very commendable. Some of the most helpful people here are helping so.. I am at a loss as well. Spark, fuel, air, compression and timing are all you need to get things running. Best wishes with this....

As far as the thermowax, You will probably see opinions going both ways on it. I would leave it in place if it works. There are posts on here where people were troubleshooting no starts where it was bypassed. I am almost positive there are posts about fixing a thermowax too. None are to be had from Mazda I don't think though.
