so i have a 87 fc with new plugs, wires, battery, alternator, fuel pump ,filter, exhaust and it wont rev past about 3500 still ive been workin on it for a couple months now the only two things i have left that narrowed it down to is the TPS sensor or the MAF cause when i rev the engine the airbox sounds like an angry old man screamin ive already spent about 1000 on it and i was hoping i could get some fresh ideas...thanx

well i had both cats replaced and thats not it so now im leaning to the MAF but im not quite sure ive gone through almost the whole car the actual engine itself runs fine no idle jumps or anything like that so it has to be something small and stupid like some little sensor or something

Thats your clutch fan making that noise, warm up the car to normal operating temps and unplug the tps, go for a drive and tell me what happens.

Question

I did what you said got it up to normal temps and disconnected the TPS then I went around the block real quick and there was no change it was doing the same thing so that would mean its the MAF right
