Im sure its been done before.. but not by me

This seemed as close to a good place for this post as any.

I just want to say thanks. Thank you to the mods and members of this forum.

This site has been the most valuable source of information i could have ever imagined available for any purpose, let alone car repair/modification. With nothing more then this forum, the FSM and some time and effort i have gone from a guy who knew nothing about rotaries at all, an barely anything about cars in general to a guy who doesnt hesitate to tear off the uim to fix a leak, replace suspension, diagnose at least a dozen potentially expensive, but easy to fix problems, etc etc. the list goes on and on. So to all you rotor heads out there, my appreciation is yours. You have taught me more then id have imagined, and saved me heaps of money in repairs. You have also helped me keep my 7 running despite its flat out refusal at times to do so, and for this, I love you all.

Cheers!

Heh, I'll second that. It seems I've been learning about this stuff at an exponential rate since I started coming here.

I knew a lot about cars and engines but nothing about rotaries. So, several years ago when I got my first rotary, I joined up on this forum and began reading the posts. Had no idea what a BAC valve was or a TPS, much less how to adjust the damn thing. I echo TalkSick's sentiments. With just these forums and the FSM, I feel quite comfortable under the hood of a rotary.

My problem is, I joined at 17 years old i just turned 19 and I have rebuilt my car from scratch basicly turbo 2 swap, remove emissions, port.. all that good stuff.. as a winter project. and i'm comfortable with it to the point i'm afraid to ever buy a piston engine... I have no experience and limited basic knowledge about the components.. I want a toyota mr2 or a subaru wrx but then i think "o man i have to learn so much all over again" i may be able to rebuild rotaries but that doesnt mean i can rebuild piston engines!... so i am exploring more threads and i hope i soak up the info as easily as i did here.

Piston engines aren't all that complicated. Rotaries are diffinetely easier from what I can tell so far (I'm just starting to learn on one right now). The biggest complication is probably in the heads on a piston engine! Thats about it!
