car starts to vibrate 40 mph and up

seems like when i drive it 40mph and up, the whole car starts to vibrate.. not as bad as before..
when clutch was changed, we check the driveshaft, the weight is still on there, and everything was intact..
it didn't do this before..
thing is.. i dont think it has anything to do with the tranny because when it starts to vibrate, i would shift it in neutral and it will still vibrate..

some people were thinking of wheel alignments, but funny thing is it never did this before..
any help is appreciated
thanks

I would go with drive shaft, check it out again.. might be out of balance, and U- joints might be worn.

Does the vibe happen only when you are in gear, or does it happen if you coast in neutral? Maybe one of the balance weights fell off one of the wheels. What kind of tires you got? I've seen cheap tires that had a bunch of broken belts inside them cause vibrations. You gotta know what to feel for cause you can't see that the belts are broke. You have to get down by the wheel and grab the tire like its a girls hips, them caress them up and down. It should be evenly round. If you feel a big flat spot and the tread on the outside looks even, then its a good chance that belts are broken.

does the car Clunk and vibrate? or just vibrate?

do u feel the vibration through the wheel? or the whole car noticbly shudders like ur about to stall?

is it a humming kinda small fast cycling vibration. or a slow thunk thunk thunk

does the vibration go away after a certain speed ? or after 40 it's always there?

over 120, lets see hmmmm, you need to check basically every moving part on the drive train.

NSX, you should start with the basics. Check wheel balance and insure that your wheels are true. An slightly bent rim can casue shimmy's at specific speed ranges. (less prunouncd at lower speed.

I had the same exact symptom as you. I would go back and re visit the driveshaft and inspect it. I had to remove one end of the shaft to feel the play. With the driveshaft installed I couldnt really feel any play. After I replaced the driveshaft no more vib.

Also did you mark the driveshaft prior to replacement of the clutch? This would also be your problem.

yes my tires suck, the rear tires are kind of dry rotted.. but the thing is, it never did this before.. I would of known before I got my motor and clutch installed

my rims aren't bent, pretty good condition..

Get your rear wheels balanced. Sounds like that's your cause.
