Belt wear
Last night i went out drifting with quite a few friends,
halfway through a corner powersteering was gone,
and the "well maybe the cap pop'd off" thought came from my girlfriend's mouth.
opened the hood, to my S5 'vert
the wonderful burned rubber smell hit me in the face
one of my belts had whipped off, pulling the rest off.
A/C compressor belt was the cluprit.
never seen that happen before..
either way, put all fresh belts on her this morning, drove around for a few minutes, readjusted them, and I get home open the hood to make an inspection and I find the Air Pump's belt is nice and chafed
readjusted a few times, still is coming into contact with something.
took the other belts off, no burrs on the e-pully or the airpump pulley.
the closest thing I can discern is the adjustment braket on the airpump itself.
has anyone had this problem before?

on the label you can see where a whole "Gates Green Stripe XL" has been almost totally sheared off.
best pics I can provide till the morning, but, the belts are wearing on the inside (engine side)

I'm pretty sure I checked that the pulley spins levelly and flush!
but. I didn't write it down. so I'm not 100% I'll check in the morning.
I suppose that could be the aftermath from the A/C belt exploding and ripping the P/S and Airpump belt off under load.
keep the advice coming, <3

ahaha
it is fun, alot of the guys I drive with have torn out interiors, no back seats, a/c, zip-tied dashes..
and I pull up in a convertible, full everything, leather.. I actually haven't ever used the A/C, I know it works because I checked it when I bought it in December..
doesn't matter though, the car isn't by any means a competition car, it's just something fun to throw around untill I get alot better, and it's
nice to drive around town, and girls dig the "non-ghetto-ness" that is accustomed to drifters in the area.
now you probably won't believe that an dropped, cut spring, explorer drifts with us. <3
