changing radiator
I just bought a koyo radiator, and will take out the stock one tomorrow. I have been running evans coolant in my radiator, but will probably switch back to a water/coolant mixture tomorrow. what mixture do you guys recommend, and does any one have an idea of the best way to get all of the coolant out of a motor.
Thanks

Typically in the hotter climates run something like a 75/25 water/coolant ratio, maybe a little more or less water, that is a personal preference thing. Also dump a bottle of Water Wetter in there.
The best way to get water out is to remove the fill cap and unscrew the plug in the bottom of the radiator to drain nicely into a bucket. They way I did it when installing my Koyo was alot messier. Let me tell you, coolant does not taste good!

Water does a better job of conducting heat than coolant. The purpose of the coolant is to prevent corrosion and raise the boiling point of water (or lower freezing point in winter). Having a pressurized system also raises the boiling point. If you do a better job of puling the heat out of the engine you can lower water temps by enough to offset the reduced boiling point of your mixture.

what is the capacity of the koyo unit? Then I can try and figure out how much coolant to use and how much water. Actually, since you did it, do you remember how much you used?
