best oil for my FC???

i use 20w/50. But i live in tampa florida so 11months out 12 its to warm. I did get my oil changed and they put 10/30 in it. so i may keep that until after december.

Well, I will interject what I have decided on after having the car for about seven years. I live on the coast of Oregon, Low forties in the mornings in the winter, and high 70`s in the summer. I have used everything known to man in this car from synthetics to Castrol. The car now has over 290,000 miles on the original engine. First 150,000 with all kinds of oil. The last has been 15W-40 Diesel oil, Dello 400. Now, why have I settled on this oil? Even though it contains a higher % of ash than some other oils, it has a very high detergency level, (High TBN), Therefore, it never ever carbons up like it used to do with Castrol and others. I used to have to take a very long trip (500 miles or so) to clean it out at least once a year, then it would run great for abought six months. With the Dello, It never carbons up anymore. Now I will admit that the plugs seem to get dirty faster, but the internals stay much cleaner. This may seem like a conflict of terms, but I beleive that the high detergency keeps the depoits softened up and easily blown out when we get on it.
I also have a ritual I go though when I change the oil. I drain the oil, pour thre quarts of oil in the engine and start the car at Idle only, I let it run for one minute. I then drain the oil again, change the filter and add the remaining 4 1/2 quarts. This I beleive pumps some of the oil from the oil cooler and lines. Hey, you are only sacrificing three quarts of oil, and really not all of it as there is fresh oil in the cooler and lines now. I came up with the one minute thing through trial and error.

Rip the damn OMP off and run 1 oz of premix per gallon of gas. The difference in how clean your combustion chambers and seals will stay is phenomenal. The cleanest engine I've ever torn down was run on premix for its entire 50000 mile (since former rebuild) life and was tuned VERY badly. The rotor housings were MINT except for one TINY scratch caused by a craked apex seal which broke from **** poor tuning but stayed in the rotor groove and kept running fine (considering the tuning). I never would have guessed that the seal was broken until I tore the engine down and there it was. The groove in the rotor shows NO sign that the apex seal had been broken (yes I used all the proper measuring tools (feeler guages and calipers)). The cruise air/fuel ratio was 10.5:1 and the seals still were very mobile. I've seen stock engines running the OMP have the seals sticking in their grooves when taken apart. Run standard mineral oil in your oil pan.
Anyway, after actually seeing the results of engines both on and off of premix I will STRONGLY encourage everyone to run it.

I tried Sythetic for one oil change one time. I always have to try everything even when people say not to. I used Mobil 15W-50. Even though I actually liked the way the car ran, I found that if the car sat for more than one day that the oil in the engine pooled in the bottom of the combustion chambers and smoked badky when started. For some unknown reason the spark plugs were much dirtier much faster than conventional oil.
I would use premix synthetic, (Probably Amsoil HP Injector), if I was the one driving the car, but I don`t trust the wife when it comes to this.
