85 rx flooding?
85 rx flooding?
I think my 85 RX-7 is flooding its ben sitting there for 2 years and thers no compretion so i put some ATF in the spark plug holes but 2 days latter it seams likes thers lots of gas in the holes can that be Y thers not that much compretion? if so what do you think i should do?
Yes, gasoline will kill the compression if there is a lot of it. Did you get compression back when you put ATF in? Have you been running the car? Did it spill gas just sitting there?
flooding
its it seams like i got some of it back i played around with some of the vacum cylinders and found one of them stuck on the carb that might of fixed it, but no the car has not started yet, im going to do one more atf treat ment and see if thers still gas coming out or not see if the vacum was the prob
I was going to ask if this was carbed or not but I forgot. I am not too familiar with carbs but checking for vacuum problems would be on the top of my list.
On a side note, people have said that ATF is not good for oil seals, I have used it before though, so I think some regular oil or Marvels Mystery Oil would be a better choice. It is one of those unproven things but since some are saying it is not a good idea, and since there is a good alternative, I will go wil oil or MMO from now on.
