I Have The Anti-det On My Car

Just got it put on today. Have no clue what it is, nor do I care. I have no plans to try and figure it out either. I can tell you that you cannot see it and I have a very clean engine bay so wherever and whatever it is it is very well hidden or internal.

I am just happy to not have to worry about detonation again. There are other benefits to the "mod", but KDR is selling it as an anti-deonation device.

I can tell you this:

My engine only has 550 miles on it, so I am only boosting it to 10 pounds. I know I should have waited until 1,000 miles, but damn it's hard waiting. I am running 1600cc secondaries with an SX fuel pressure regulator, T04S single turbo, 3mm seas, street port, M2 large stock location, and a Haltech, in case you are wondering.

I filled up with 87 Octane in Nazareth right beore the install.

I have an Autronics wideband and tune myself. I had it running pretty fat under boost. The mod does not like fat. I am in the process of tuning for 12:1 under boost and 13.5:1 under cruise. KDR is not tuning to run 13's under boost as some may think. Not because of the chance of detonation, but high EGTs and cooling issues. With the Autronic's adjustable output I can datalog the actual air-fuel ratio to the Haltech with the u software. Makes life much easier for those who hate math.

EGTs are a tad higher than before, but within safe levels. No higher than 1350 floating on a 3,000 RPM lug.

Jacked the timing up. I am running approx. 25 degrees advance at 10lbs and 28 degrees when boost builds.

Trailing timing is flat. I mean flat as it gets. Zero, zilch, nothing.

Car runs like a raped ape. Pulls like never before. Absolutely NO signs of detonation. And don't forget, 87 Octane. More torque as well. Pulls more like a piston engine.

I think that the turbo is spooling quicker as well. I guess that may be related to the timing?

Coolant temps have not been affected. I am running Evan's. Not sure if that is helping keep the temps down or not?

KDR has my full support on this one folks. My car should have nuked the first time boosting running that 87 Octane.

I am one of Dave's original customers. He would not have put it on my car if he thought it did not work.

Rotaries like 87 octane running the mod.

Burns quicker and does not carbon up the engine as quick.

This is info I am passing on from a reliable source.

This is great, now we have some evidence from an actual user, not KDR affiliate, or someone who says "Well I know this guy who knows someone who saw a car at KDR that..."

That should put all you naysayers to rest.

Well done man!

Bummer is that you have to get it installed at KDR, which is a bit of a problem when you live on the other side of the country....

No kidding!

So assuming it is true WHAT DOES IT COST?

And how long does it take to install?

I put toilet water in my FD, boosted to 40psi and made enough rear wheel horsepower to launch the car into outer space.

Because I said it's true, it must be.
Will you now post saying my story should put all the naysayers to rest?

Thanks.

You usually will make a little bit more power on lower octane...

Anyone have any info on this "Anti-Det." mod??

I read your description and Im happy that you are finding good results. As it stands right now I can say the exact same things about my water injection setup--but with the benefits of lower intake, EGT and engine temps while also allowing you to run on 87 octain and give you more power.

I hope that this device is true, my contact will be testing it and I will know. Till then I am cautiously optimistic.

If anybody is interested I have a motor with the toilet water injection system installed. It injects water into the combustion chamber whenever the car is shut off and cools down. That is all I can say about it right now.

It sounds too good to be true. For this reason I think everybody is going to be skeptical until more information is available. At this point there isn't even proof that he physically intalled anything on your car.

Does anybody know if a FD with similar mods can be run on 87 with that timing and boost? The korean guys run 87 don't they?

I'm with John. Until someone who has "the mod" can actually identify some "hardware" I'd say it's just good tuning and we're off on another wild goose chase with this thread! With all the list members that live close to Dave at KD I'd think that we should have at least a half dozen guys with the mod installed and running, yet still no evidence as to what the "hardware" is that makes this miracle fix possible? I'm still optimistic but skeptical...

If I ship it as a winter project as long as I get it back by 3-04 that would be fine.

I e-mailed Dave on what he meant by "retail sales", no response yet, but if it can be purchased and installed anywhere that might be the way to go. I'm willing to wait quite a few months if that is the case.

I hope it works, I have a feeling we will know much more in the upcoming months. Even though I'm old, I can be patient. Dave's a pretty great and honest guy and I have the feeling he has something here.

It's apparent that most of u don't have first hand knowledge of some basic business, especially with regards to patents and such.

I have already discussed this in the other thread.

At any rate, the fact that he hasn't come forth doesn't mean that it does not exist.

He'll come forth soon enough.

Just be patience since he hardly has time to even respond on threads like this between his routine work and R&D in this device as well as possible patent processes.

That sounds like a full work day.
