I am one of several people who have the mod on their car right now. I gave KDR my word even if I stumbled upon it while working on my car, I would not tell anyone what it is. Please people be patient. It will be released soon. Imagine if you "invented" something like this. You have to cover your *** and make sure all your ducks are in a row to protect yourself or it'll be copied and then where are you?

Mid west and west coast people, I think that they will set up regional distributors/installers to take care of you. I do not think someone in San Fran will pony up $1,000 one-way to ship your car to PA.

I am going out right now to touch up the tuning. I'll post an update later today.

Just to help clear things up. I think I am a tad above novice when it comes to these cars. I did the last two engines myself. It's a hobby for me. I am just tired on losing engines. Hell my last engine nuked running low 11's under full boost. Go figure.

There are just too many factors that make friends with detonation, ie intake temps, timing, the color of the sky, day of the week. Once those twins come off look out. I beat the **** out of my car with the twins and never had a problem. It's when I went single the motor popping started.

Feel free to ask questions but please donot make this a bash thread this time. I thought everyone wanted evidence and test data from the device installed on a car?

 

rxrotary2 7- I have the A model. I did not see the benefit to paying the extra 500 bucks for the B model just to be able to use the much more expensive UEGO sensor. It logs beutifully to the Haltech. You just have to set the minimum and maximum lambas for the 5v output so it matches what the software is looking for.

The only widebands that work on the 634u are the Aultronics and the M&W, maybe the Motec? You need the adjustable outputs.

I am not a proponent to the DIYs and the FJOs.... That's a whole other thread.

You sir are an idiot, I don’t care if Dr. Felix Wankel himself made it. Before I spent a penny on something I would want to know how it works, why it works, where they are putting it. You must be crazy just to take someone’s word on something. I don’t know just seems a bit weird to me that I keep reading about this on this forum but I do not see anything about price. Or any real information about the product. Please do not take this wrong way I am in no way doubting KDR and their ability to make a product like this. I have never done business with them but I have heard a lot of good about them. But for me to take my car to someone and have them install some mystery device and then to pay them is just nuts to me. I guess I will just have to wait until they release some real information about this product.

Harsh words or not. Why would you buy something on any ones words with no proof that it works. No Idea what it does. I mean come on that is just stupid. and again he was asked a **** load of times about price and no answer. What is up with that. The price is a secret too. I mean come on. I don’t care what kind of relationship he has with KDR. **** if my own brother made this thing I wouldn’t put it on my car unless I knew what it did. i totally agree with you craig... i wouldn't pay anyone crap to do anything on my car... especially if they didn't tell me what it did or where it was going... thats just stupid if you ask me....

i'm not bashing the guy who got this done, or doubting kdr but i totally agree with craig... if you pay someone money for something and you don't know what, or even where it is... i have a bridge in brooklyn i can sell ya...

You guys are getting way too worked up over this thing. Hell, I see guys on this forum all the time who just pay some shop $$ to install a single turbo kit, PFC, whatever-- but they don't have the faintest idea how it works. Yeah, so you're pissed that you can't find out any info on this; I'd like to find out, too, but it's obviously not gonna happen (no one is divulging any info for whatever reason, although the patent theory sounds reasonable), so I'll just sit back and wait until it does (if it does). But I'm not gonna get all fired up about it.

I hope the guarantee is in writing. If not good luck getting it enforced by law. Does it cover all expenses ($1,100 R&R ect) or just the motor? Is it unconditional, or did they set certain maximums for boost, AFRs, timing ect?

 

If they did have such a gurantee in writing would u let them install it without know what it was?

If anything some of u folks need to have an attitude like Kento.

KDR is in NO WAY obligated to answer u in any way whatsover regarding something that u haven't purchased.

If I were them I would make sure the **** talkers either don't get the goods and suffer from a blown engine or put the **** talkers last in line.

If Kack had been a repeat customer do u really think that some shop would risk ******* a good customer up and have that reputation fly so freely on the internet and more specifically this forum?

I have Met Zkeller and he has done some work on my car. I wouldnt be quick to call Bullshit on him. I also want this device. My car is at KDR right now. I should have it back on the 19th. As well as Zach I have blown my share of motors and am at the point where I am ready to sell the car. This Device is the last ditch effort before I sell it and buy a Supra or something. Like Zach I really dont care what it is. The only issue I have with not knowing is that I have other people work on the car. If someone was to take it off I wouldnt even know. I need to know for that reason alone. I respect KDR's right to keep this somewhat a secret to protect thier intrests but its a bit extreme not to tell or show anyone due to fear of it being copied. I mean if I buy something , either goods or services I would like to protect my intrests as well.

Zach. You said the trailing timing was flat. Is thats whats going on? No trailing plugs? They put some dummy plugs in the trailing and just tune with leading? They snip some wires in the harness to keep the trailing from firing?

 

I am not talking trash nor am I badmouthing KDR. Like most people once there is a proven product with some specs. I will be the first to step up and buy one. What I am saying is you have to be some kind of tool to pass a statement like I don't care what it does they told me it worked. Oh but wait it gets better here is another statement born from stupidity "yep I am the idiot that is not going to blow his engine again" That is a pretty strong statement about something that you don't have the first clue about what it is where it is or what the hell it does. Lets face we all know that detonation is a major cause of blowing up any motor. But there are other things that can wrong. Or does this thing protect you against all evil. For the people who do have this device lets here what you are doing with the car what conditions are you running the car under. Any dyno results. How long have you had it how many miles have you driven with it? So on and so on. Lets not just assume that your motor will not blow up. When you pass comments like this you just sound plain ignorant. I hope this is for real and I hope that it works out for the guys at KDR again from what I have head they are pretty good guys. And if you are part of R and D that is great more power to you if you are willing to take a chance on blowing up your motor. That is a risk I am not willing to take. I am tired of hearing the hype and the rumors I just want the facts. Not I have it on my car and I am running 87-pump gas and I have not blown it up YET…..

My opening statement was to keep everyone from asking me what it is.... As I said, KDR has my word not to leak out what it is. Again, that would be devistating to the potential business that it will bring to them. Are we past that part now?

People wanted test data and some feedback and that is what I am doing.

Hey Matt. I am with you on the not knowing what it is and accidently removing it. I will know what it is soon enough. I plan to keep things together for a while.

The trailing are still firing, just at the same time as the leading. I changed the leading since before I had the mod I was running lambdas in the 10's under boost for saftey sake and it took a toll on the plugs. Trailing plugs looked fine.

Matt I think that you have been through more engines than I have so I am sure that you are ready as well.

You asked if they put dummy plugs in the trailing. The answer is no. The harness was not altered either from what I can see.

 

I think its promising. I am curious but thats to be expected. Keep posting any results.

 

I do not have any guarantee. Again, I begged for this device as Matt said, as a last ditch effort to keep the car because I am so tired of blowing motors.

We did not even discuss it. If the motor blows I'll pull it and take it to them and they'll make good on it. I am sure that they will want to see the damage for themselves since, at this point, it would be the first engine lost with the mod on.

I just have that type of relationship with KDR.

I think its misleading to promote a product that prevents detonation, intall it and dont tell you anything about it, keep it hidden and then if you blow your engine, too bad.
