f/g dash board
f/g dash board
So I decided to make a new dashboard out of fibreglass. I didn't have any prior experience which is probably why its taken me so long, I also am not keeping the heater core or vents which made it easy. anyways here are the pics in order.

Whether it turns out good or not, I commend him on his work and dedication. He's teaching himself to fiberglass, which even if the project turns out to be useless (
), it's a useful skill to have for future applications.

Wow, some people are harsh.
SMonty: What are you doing to the LS1? H/C only or something with the shortblock? I'm assuming you're going to be putting aftermarket gauges in the cluster, is this correct?
When you're done, get weight numbers for this dash and the old dash.

nice work. id also be interested to hear what the weight difference is. i also like the fact that you can place gauges wherever you want and it will still look clean after paint.
Thanks for the comments guys,
the ls1 has the prc ls6 heads and an ms4 cam, ls6 intake, ported tb, ported oil pump, pulley, larger injectors, and hopefully i'll pick up a nice exhaust set up.
I'm not sure what the old dash weighs I will weigh this one when its all finished though.
most of the weight savings are in the fact that I removed all the stuff under the dash board.
I'm going to be using autometer ultralite's
