Question. Why wouldn't the kid you make for the FD not fit an FC? I thought the headlight housings were otherwise the same for both.

nope, the FD uses a completely different shape housing and different headlight mounting method.

So 7 for the FC and 3 for the FB. If I had a better income, I'd buy an extra 12 kits to make it the full 15, and work on selling them off as I could. Come on people, this is a GREAT upgrade for the shoddy 30+ year old (when it was designed) lighting.

I'm in. Set aside some money from my tax check. Seems like a good investment.

Well as it looks right now there won't be enough interest for this product to start production. We need more people to make it worth while to the company.

We really would like this to succeed as well as there are currently no decent options for quality lighting. In my FD (Dan and others from the FD GB have commented similarly) I feel so much more confident driving at night as I can actually see the road (and the sides of the road, and down the road LOL). I easily pick out deer, animals, pedestrians, cops... whatever's out there... compared to before which was just scary.

Unfortunately we don't really have the time or means of funding to advertise... we are very small and spend most of our time and money on product development/testing (typically for FD parts as we are FD guys). We are also going against the $75 plug and play junk. Without raising the price point on these kits, I think it's just got to be a word of mouth sort of thing to get them off the ground. Thanks to everyone for hanging with us through this rough phase in the project! I think what we need to do is get a prototype kit to a local guy with an FC/FB snap some pics, and have them review using the lights themselves in the FC and or FB sections. That may generate some interest.

Heath

Unfortunately, people see the $75 bullshit and think it's awesome and don't understand the optics of a lighting system. All they see is brightness.

Like car stereos. All people see is wattage and don't understand frequency response...

Unfortunately either without a massive price reduction or a massive spike in the public's IQ as a whole, I don't think this'll see much more interest.
We all know how much faith I have in most people's intelligence.

Looks like it's time to find unfluted glass 6054 headlights, a pair of OEM BiXenon projectors, and some industrial grade sealant...

Or put up with $20 Sylvania headlights forever, which is the more likely route since building these things is gonna take time and effort... Sending y'all some money woulda really take care of that.

That's 10 for the FC. How many do you need to start production?

15 and we'll get the molds made for the back of the setup, after that we'll need to collect deposits before putting them into production

Once you develop a mold for 6054 (Rectangle, FC) sealed beams, how much harder would it be to change it for 6024 (Round, FB/SA) sealed beams?

Also, front lens material... Glass or plastic? Or perhaps Polycarbonate?

The mold for the 7" found is completely different than the rectangular one. The lenses are glass... we havent found a suitable housing w/ a plastic lens. If you happen to have any suggestions feel free to shoot me a PM.

^ Oh no, glass is definitely preferred. It won;t yellow or scratch up and become cloudy over time. Carry on.

one question regarding RHD rx7 lighting. Now i am thinking about purchasing a RHD 7 from the UK and bring it here to spain. nowi will have to swap the lights for LHD ones. is it possible you make the kit for LHD and also do you think a vehicle inspection garage would be able to tell its not stock?
thankyou

True... Hence the inquiry about polycarbonate... Or maybe a shatter resistant lamination like they put on home windows to reduce changes of burglary.
